RE: The Rouge quotes fiasco

Hi there; I apologize if it wasn't clear -- it's just that the phrases that Rouge says in MSOWG still don't relate to her main personality herself from the Sonic games in general. The quotes you attempted to list were still "general phrases" in nature from what we saw after taking a second look. Now if there was a line that matched Rouge perfectly describing her character overall, then it would have passed. Sorry, but we failed to see that in MSOWG. Thanks for asking. However, I'm still happy that you improved the rest of the said article, no doubt. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 19:02, 24 October 2009 (EDT)

Surprised?

Well, I saw that the quality is the same for the images you've replaced, so I think it's not necessary to upload duplicate images, don't you think? I'll recommend you to stop uploading these images since it's not needed to upload them with the same quality. Additionally uploading them in PNG format only makes the file obese and NEVER enhances quality, believe me... ¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

No, that wasn't cropped... :/

¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

Actually it does enhance quality, for an example check here:look at the section titled .jpg.--FREAK ~Game GameBros.png Freak~ OUT!

Sorry, but I do know the difference between the images you uploaded and the old ones. The quality it's the same if you see at max resolution for both of those images. By the way, let me know which is the page where you found those images... ¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

@ Gamefreak. Not exactly. If the original image is PNG and you turn into JPG, this will lose quality. BUT if you turn a JPG image into PNG, the quality is the same but the size of the file increases.

¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

Per Coincollector. Turning a JPG image into PNG only makes it consume more space, except in the cases that the image is compressed (which basically reduces the size while keeping the quality... If you use the right program and know what you are doing). · SMB (Talk) · 22:01, 27 October 2009 (EDT)
I knew the first part, but with my experience, the second part makes the quality worse...It's probably the pictures I used. But usually what messes up is the background. :/ --FREAK ~Game GameBros.png Freak~ OUT!

Ok, since everybody seems to be coming to my talk page to talk about this I'll say it here. I didn't find the images as jpgs in the first place. I found them as full size high quality arts and then saved them as pngs. They didn't have a save option and were not jpg. Also, were not the same images that previously existed. FD09

@ Gamefreak: well, depending the software you use, the image you're converting will take some determined measures. And as for FD09, I know the problem and your efforts but I'm afraid that's not needed by now. The quality is the same really, I should tell you I found these images with the same resolution and low file size that is nice to save server's space and load pages quickly. ¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

Images

I'm actually uploading the remaining images that I tried to upload for one whole day. You see, I gathered about 600 images quite a while ago this year to beat Shroobario's image record, 294. I've uploaded over 300 images, but have the other half left. So I'm trying to upload all of it as best as I can... right now, I can't remember where I get those images, but I remembered that I used Google to find all the images in unique ways, like finding images larger than a computer screen perhaps. Don't be surprised if I'm still uploading them, the very last image will have a note that says I'm done uploading the rest of the other 300 images. XD RAP.pngRAP...

I haven't checked the wiki records, but last time I checked, I was the highest image uploader in the wiki; and I wll continue to be after uploading a few goodies. There's some competition with other users, but I got to be friendly with them (but haven't talked to them... XD), but there's a certain user who didn't responded to a certain comment. User talk:Lindsayoris15 to be exact. Anyhow, I have to go, I have other matters to take care of. Talk to you later. :P RAP.pngRAP...

That image was part of the 300 images that I'm trying to upload. I think it came from the public FTP server of Sega. You should really thank them due to their open-ness to their "press materials". RAP.pngRAP... There are more images to go. ;)

It's not really a joke, there's actually a FTP server that Sega has, to host various materials. Those images? Awwwwwww... you didn't find them? I haven't seen the page since, but it's still open, along with "The Conduit", and other folders. Maybe I'll search for it, hmmm. RAP.pngRAP...

Link RAP.pngRAP... Have fun, while it lasts. :o (The other Mario & Sonic folder disappeared... :X)

As I said, I haven't been there since around May or June. I don't think that the two images were there, maybe try creatively searching those images. RAP.pngRAP...

Peach's article itself

I recall your saying about Peach's article itself when it was "nominated" -- I honestly didn't see anything wrong with it since it was good so far. What were your concerns about it? --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 20:56, 29 October 2009 (EDT)

The Peach picture for NSMB Wii

Okay, upon closer inspection, the Peach art for NSMB Wii has got my attention too from all angles because it's too good. However, I believe when the time comes to change said picture on her infobox, we need to upload said art from the source where Arend got it -- it's currently in PNG and upon closer inspection, it had a slight image quality loss. --M. Re: Hello

I like it the way it is now. It's organized in a logical fashion that gives no type of media more merit or importance than any other. Your proposed scheme of organization seems to value the game-related area of a given article more than the other forms. BLOC PARTIER.

Decent argument, but my opinion still stands. And anyway, I shouldn't have to defend it. That's not how our proposal system works. BLOC PARTIER.

Hiya

Yeah I'd be glad to support it!

The difference could possibly be that you're using a high-ratio screen while I have one in 4:3. The images take half of the page and half for the text, looking like a newspaper. As for the proposal, among the main rules consist that users must vote that back up the proposal and not a condition just for a change. And between, do you think the user Time Q is conspiring against you...? ¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

Maybe but then the text becomes tiny... crap

¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

Just to clarify that: Of course I'm NOT conspiring against you... Those votes weren't valid really. Look at the top of the page, it says that "I like this idea!" doesn't suffice as a valid reason, and that was basically what those users wrote. Believe it or don't, I would also have removed those votes if they were in the oppose section. Time Questions 08:09, 10 November 2009 (EST)

Dang, you beat me into reverting said edit on the Princess Daisy article! *rotfl* Anyway, yeah, I did see the evidence and I placed a 1 week block on PrincessPeach16. Yes your new proposal was easier to understand! As you can see I have voted under the support section XD Hey there! I'm Marioguy1 :DMarioguy1 (Talk | Contribs) Hey there! I'm Marioguy1 :D

Proposal

Hi. First of all, congrats that your proposal passed. I want to warn you though that I and some other users are going to propose to revert the proposal as soon as we are allowed to (which is in 4 weeks). Maybe you could wait until then before you make huge changes to articles that may need to be reverted afterwards? That's just a suggestion, of course you may also ignore that and do any changes you want as long as they conform to your proposal. It's just that it would be a pity if we'd need to revert all that afterwards. Time Questions 12:28, 10 November 2009 (EST)

Proposal...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the other Administrators and I have decided to veto your proposal on changing the History Organization Standard for the character biographies. The Wiki's already had its Histories reorganized twice, and combined with the absolutely unorganized pages, we have four standards kicking around, not to mention countless smaller variations found from page to page. Not one of those standards is perfect (personally, I'm not a huge fan of our current series-sub-divided method), but the Wiki's disorganized enough as it is, and we can't change things up any more without first fixing what we've already done. Us Admins are largely to blame for dragging our feet so long when it comes to updating the neglected pages, but hopefully that will change now that you've brought our attention back to the underlying issues of the inconsistent Histories plaguing the Wiki - it's just regrettable that you did it at the expense of your own idea. Please accept our apologies for this whole debacle, and try to understand that we had no choice but to come to the difficult decision of revoking your proposal. - Walkazo 01:12, 11 November 2009 (EST)

Please believe me when I say we would have reacted the same way if anyone else had proposed another change, even if they had been an Admin themselves. We do understand that you're mad, and I appreciate the fact that you're not taking it out on me. As for what's going to happen now... we'll continue to update pages to the current History Organization Standard. The problem is that it's such a huge undertaking - many of these pages need to be totally rewritten in some parts, and most people look at things like Mario and run for the hills (myself included, I'm ashamed to admit). There's no simple way to turn the crappy pages like Koopalings into good pages - we just have to keep widdling away at the mountain, as we always have (for example, I've been updating the individual Koopaling pages, such as Iggy Koopa, and they're slowly looking better; if memory serves, I also had a hand in reorganizing Princess Daisy). We'll fix this place up, even if it takes a few more years. - Walkazo 02:30, 11 November 2009 (EST)
The reason everything is in disorder is because we've kept changing how things are organized, yet haven't bothered updating everything accordingly. That leaves us with multiple generations of History Organization Standards dotting the wiki: we have continuous game-only timelines; continuous mixed-media timelines; timelines subdivided into series; timelines with creative headers; timelines mashed into rambling introductions; timelines that start with "Yoshi's Island"; timelines that have "background" sections... It's an ugly, ugly mess, but there's no quick fix. Even if we were to sit down and dream up a perfect organization standard right now, that doesn't change the fact that thousands of pages would need to be changed, and hundreds of those will require complete overhauls. It's not just characters, remember: items, species, places and organizations all have histories too, so whatever we do to the characters has to be done to everything else. It's not so much the specific standards that are broken: the sheer logistics is what's slowing us down and what has made the other Admins and I wary of another major change. The last standard was decided upon months ago, but we're barely halfway through implementing it, so if we change it again, we'll have to redo what we've already redone and only then can we move on to the pages that weren't updated at all last time, many of which were left unchanged because they're the ones that require rewrites - thus we hit the same brick wall every other wave of change has hit. The sad truth is that most people don't have enough initiative to write/rewrite every page, and even those of us who want to can't always muster the energy (I find that by the tenth or so major rewrite, I'm sick and tired of editing for the night). We have to fix the horrible pages, but that's only going to be done if the easy jobs are already finished, which is why we can't change the standard anymore; the current system isn't perfect, but at least it's established in the database. We just need to buckle down and tackle the neglected pages; once everything's fleshed out and formatted nicely, reorganizing will be fast and easy, since we'll just have to move the existing sections around and change some headers, but getting to that point is what's gonna take time. - Walkazo 01:06, 14 November 2009 (EST)
Wow, Walkazo has big things. Anyhow, you have to archive proposals if you delete them. Marioguy1 (talk)

I'm sorry I don't know for certain if she's in it, I got the infomation from the Mario Wiki's page on Rain Shower where it says she eventually appears, I'm sorry I am unable to comfirm it as I am not good enough at Rain Shower.

Peach/Daisy in Film

I've seen the movie several times and have watched it several times the last week. There's little difference between blonde and "dirty" blonde. They're both "blonde". Daisy also is brunette, if you look at her actual artwork. An orangeish-tint doesn't remove from the brunette foundation.

Finally, there's no such thing as a gender-role-specific profession. Being a paleontologist does not make Daisy more or less masculine. (It would be wise to know the facts yourself, considering she wasn't a paleontologist at all... She was a university student) Daisy's personality was shy, quiet, and overtly-intimate. She hadn't a single tomboyish or masculine trait, such as brashness, initiative, or resolve. All indications point to her being Peach with a composite name, so don't be such a fangirl. Redstar 00:42, 22 November 2009 (EST)

I didn't insult you, nor did I suggest you were a girl. Even if I did, why should that be taken as an insult/offense? If anything you insulted me first by suggesting I "don't know the facts".
Daisy may be a redhead to some degree, but red hair typically darkens and become brunette with age. She very much appears to have brunette hair in her recent appearances. In any case, the fact Daisy is a redhead or brunette while the in-film Daisy is blonde should suggest Peach by your own logic, should it not? Redstar 00:53, 22 November 2009 (EST)
It may have been a personal insult to you, but it was not meant as such from me. I didn't even use it to suggest gender.
I have two redheaded sisters, a once-redheaded father, and have dated several redheads. I know redhair. I know what it's like. Daisy is a red-tinted brunette, but in the end her hair color doesn't matter... Because the in-film character Daisy has blonde hair which suggests Princess Peach.
Finally, the film Daisy has not a single trait one can connect with the video game Daisy. Name one, besides the name. Even then, look around... See anyone named "Peach"? They chose it because Daisy is a more common name, whereas "Peach" would sound strange to audiences. This isn't my opinion anymore than your belief she's Daisy is fact. Redstar 01:03, 22 November 2009 (EST)
The relationship between the two has never been explicitly stated, only implied, in the games, and only several years after the film was released. The relationship depicted in the film was the first suggested of romance between characters named "Luigi" and "Daisy", so there's no basis that this was a video game-portrayal.
I have several of the scripts. Redstar 01:08, 22 November 2009 (EST)
Umm... Okay? What does you being a redhead have to do with anything? I'm not debating what hair color Daisy has, I'm simply saying the film Daisy has blonde hair. The same color as Peach.
Daisy wasn't in any golf games at the time of the film's release, which wouldn't really matter because the script was written several years before the film was released anyways, and her being Luigi's caddy wouldn't suggest anything. Sorry, I don't know what you meant by "nice try there".
I'm pretty sure any admin won't ban me for this because I've tried to be civil and I'm discussing this with you. While the information is ultimately speculation, all speculative information points to Peach over Daisy. You haven't submitted a single piece of evidence suggesting the film Daisy is the counterpart to the video game Daisy other than her name. Redstar 01:18, 22 November 2009 (EST)
Yes, you do need to provide your "facts". You just can't post speculative fan-opinion as fact, which you clearly are doing.
And why doesn't the movie belong on here? It was a Super Mario adaptation, the very first video game-to-film adaptation, and was a faithful adaptation thereof. It deserves to be on here just as much as any other page. Redstar 01:33, 22 November 2009 (EST)

...?!

All right, prove it to me. Because it seems that you undid my edit with your full reasoning in the "Summary" section. o_O --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 20:55, 23 November 2009 (EST)

Sometimes I look back at those old fights and it's just so stupid. XD So, um...how are you? SJ derp :P
It's amazing how "I'm right, you're wrong" attitudes can change people. Right now I'm doing my blasted English homework. Normally I don't mind English class...but I have the English teacher from Hell this year. @_@ SJ derp :P
Well if I do decide to become an English teacher...at least I have someone NOT to use as a role model. :P (I'm talking about my English teacher, not you, of course) SJ derp :P
Wanna know what I wish? I wish that a Daisy game, a Mario Party 9, and a Mario Volleyball game would be announced. :P Speaking of which, how have the Daisy pages been coming along? It looks like there's an debate over Daisy in the movie. SJ derp :P
As long as there is no censorship proposal repeat, I'm fine. Yeah, they totally should have been in that. It would have been better than the two random toads. And Toadette needs to be in a main stream game, and I don't think Daisy would mind returning to the main stream games either. SJ derp :P
I know!!! I was like "What the heck Nintendo???" when I saw that. lol. I just noticed something weird. When I started to become active at one point you were becoming inactive and now it's vice-versa. Haha. SJ derp :P
Are you serious? When you first changed it I thought you had just switched around the words then added some random number at the end. XD SJ derp :P
lol. Well I've gotta go now. Talk to you tomorrow. Hopefully. If I'm online. :P SJ derp :P

RE: Again

Hi there, the reason we "overrulled" your edit on the Peach article is because the "sports installments" of Mario spinoff games still don't really count. What was put there before your edit was perfectly fine. However, in the case of Redstar, I checked the edit history and I see no case to overrule his edits so far (besides, he also place a notice on the article's talk page). Besides, I see where he's coming from when he said that "repeated" info and such had to be taken out to make the article better, if I'm not mistaken. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 01:57, 27 November 2009 (EST)

Wait... let me get this straight...

Am I to conclude from your recent edits that the Princess Peach article had a mess of problems...? Even though I'm a sysop and monitor this page very closely, I can see why you have an issue with this. I'm beginning to also conclude that you're telling me that spinoff installments do count overall? My assumption is that in the case of Birdo, you're going all the way back to Peach's first encounter with her. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 20:41, 27 November 2009 (EST)

Re: Just Peachy

If anything, those relationship sections should be removed, as per a proposal that passed a couple months back. Only the most important relationships have any reason to stay, and that includes neither Birdo nor Toadette: any information pertaining to their interactions with Peach can simply be included in the appropriate appearances' sections. Trimming the sections is a step in the right direction - doubly so if it removes speculation and preferential treatment to certain types of appearances. - Walkazo 15:32, 29 November 2009 (EST)

RE: The Pecah/Daisy "Summary" Fiasco

I understand where you're coming from in your addressing your concerns, it's just that in my opinion -- the summaries of the Princess Peach and Princess Daisy should be focused on the "adult selves" mainly; mention of their "baby counterparts" are really not needed at the beginning. Besides, as already stated, we already have links to their "baby counterpart" articles in their respective sections (Baby Peach from Princess Peach's "M&L: P.I.T." section, and Baby Daisy from Princess Daisy's "Mario Kart Wii" section). And second, as I have already pointed out, the "milestone" of Peach's video game appearances has already been mentioned in the article's "Trivia" section. Once again, I appreciate the sending of your concerns my way, and I do hope you understand where I was coming from with this.

With that said, I've got some concerns of my own -- explain to me on the edit you did on the Bowser Jr. article that even though Bowser Jr. is an "antagonist" of Princess Peach, that he is "affiliated" with her. This doesn't make any sense to me. o_O --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 01:35, 30 November 2009 (EST)
