The Pig King Statue

Porky Statue (referred to as The Pig King Statue in smashbros.com[1]) is a boss in the game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Although Sakurai lists it as a boss, it is not actually counted as a boss. In the Subspace Emissary, Lucas is visiting The Ruined Zoo, but after he sees the Pig King Statue, he runs away. Lucas must travel through the zoo avoiding the Pig King Statue. However, soon, he trips over, and just when he thinks it's over, Ness comes and uses his PK Thunder and PK Flash to destroy the large statue. But once destroyed, it turns into Porky, an actual boss that is fought.

Aside from the Subspace Emissary, the Pig King Statue also receives a trophy which is unlocked by beating Boss Battles on the Very Hard difficulty and gets to be in the background of the New Pork City stage.

Trophy Information from Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Name Image Game Description
Porky Statue BrawlTrophy316.png GBA Mother 3
Japan only
A guardian statue standing inside New Pork City that's clearly based on Porky himself. Investigate it, and the statue will turn hostile and start a battle. And it has 100,000,000 HP! It has very high stats, so you'll never win if you attack it straight-on. Thankfully, there's an item called "New Year's Eve" that can reduce its HP to 1--then you can defeat it with ease.

Trivia

  • In Mother 3, the original game that the Pig King hails from, one of the random effects of PK Flash is immediately destroying the enemy. This may be why it works so well for Ness in the cutscene. However, players can't do this manually if they replay the stage as Ness - they must survive until the cutscene sequence.
    • Likewise, players can't use Trophy Stands against the Porky Statue, as it's invincible.
  • In Mother 3, before being battled in New Pork City in Brawl, it stands similarly to the Statue of Liberty in real-life.
