Talk:Minus World
Can anyone explain what "World 36" means as what this world actually is?? How would "World 35" be represented the same way "World 36" is represented here by a blank?? Koopa lover 15:33, 15 April 2007 (EDT)
- The 1-8 displayed are tiles 1-8 in the game's graphics. the 36th tile is a space, and world '36-1' displays as ' -1' because it tries to use the 36th graphic tile, which is a blank space. Yadda 16:31, 28 May 2007 (EDT)
- Well, what is the 35th?? Anyone have a complete list?? Koopa lover 19:57, 29 May 2007 (EDT)
- There's one at The Mushroom Kingdom site in the SMB complete guide. It's meant for use with extra lives but you can see all the tiles there.Kayube 13:35, 3 January 2008 (EST)
- To answer your question, world 35-1 would be displayed by the game as Z-1 likewise world 37-1 would be displayed as a glitch symbol-1. After world 9 the game uses world A-Z, and then space for world 36-1 and after world 36 several glitched symbols. --Chickasaurus 16:09, 19 February 2010 (EST)

Eh... This page needs a screenshot of the place though I know a site with level screenshots. Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!
- Wasn't level -1 completable in the Japanese version? And resulted in -2 and -3, the completion of which resulted in completion of the game?-1337Yoshi'
- Yep, that was in the Famicom Disk System version. Kayube 13:35, 3 January 2008 (EST)
Just wondering, but why isn't this page part of the list of glitches-primid snake
you know...
when they call it world -1, reely they had no numeral for 0 soooo, it would be normally be called world 0-1. since they didn't have a numeral for 0, its invisible,
for example:
- world 1-1 is normal
- world -1 is the minus world,
- world 0-1 WOULD have been the name of the minus world, but there was no 0 placed in the game!
I was gonna mention world 36, but see people have figured it out already. As far as I know, you can get to 36-4 in the Japenese version. Maybe I used multiple glitches. Kirby694 11:35, 12 August 2011 (EDT)
If I remember correctly, you warp to 0-1. then make your way through the water, and finish world 0. PEACH tells you that she's in another castle...then you continued to 36-1, shown as: " -1" world 37 and onward...looks cloudy I found by cheating and other software on an emulator. Beyond -1
Under "Using hacking tools", it says "If one is to use a gaming tool that can set the level that Mario is on, the Minus World goes all the way to -8." I'm not fully sure what this means when editing the game as I'm doing some tests. Could someone explain please? Tony64 01:01, 23 April 2012 (EDT)
Beyond the Minus World, in a semi-legit manner (ie. old school Japanese way of doing on cartridge with no hacking...technically)

Check out the section "Super Secret Worlds." This is something that is long overdue for this article. LinkTheLefty 17:27, 23 April 2012 (EDT)

So in the JP version Mario will start his second quest, but what happens if done on the second quest. I see a good chance for a mission if someone would do this on the JP version and report back on my talk page.
HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have the game on the vitrul console for 3ds and i doing the second quest where there are no goombas. I read the page and followed the instructions but te glitch won't work. Why is this?World 6 (talk)
- I'm guessing the glitch was removed in the virtual console version. Either that, or you should keep trying. Peanutjon (talk) 23:23, 14 September 2012 (EDT)
Conjectural ?
Isn't this name conjectural ? The only official names are World 36-1, or World -1.
