Decalburg is a town featured in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. It serves as the central hub town of the game, and is where Mario starts his adventure. The Sticker Festival takes place here.

Plot

The Toads living in Decalburg celebrate the annual Sticker Fest. Princess Peach appears on stage and presents the Sticker Comet. However, Bowser and his minions arrive and crash the festivities. Bowser touches the sacred Comet and shatters it, causing its pieces to scatter throughout the entire kingdom. A crown then lands on his head, and he transforms into an invincible form, terrorizing the Toads. Mario jumps on him, but is overpowered. When Mario wakes up, he finds the Sticker Fest area completely decimated, with Toads trapped in various ways by Bowser. After meeting with Kersti, Mario frees the Toads and obtains a Hammer.

The next area Mario arrives in contains a few houses. More Toads are hiding here in various places. After uncovering all of them, Mario continues onwards.

He then comes upon a brigade of Toads pushing against a rolled up section of ground. Mario learns that the area was the central plaza of Decalburg, but Bowser used his newly-found power to roll everything away. Mario is tasked with finding all of the Toads he has encountered thus far. When all of them are found, the Toads manage to unroll the ground, and the plaza promptly pops up.

Significance

Decalburg is the only main town in Sticker Star. Here, the player can purchase stickers and create Thing stickers. A Save Block and Recovery Block are also present. North of Decalburg is Surfshine Harbor.

Etymology

The town's name comes from decal, a design prepared on special paper to be transferred to another surface, like a sticker, and -burg, a town or city.
