The Shroob Mother Ship is a ship that Princess Shroob uses to travel along with her Shroobs in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. It looks like a huge pink Shroob UFO and may be the spaceship the Shroobs came to the Mushroom World in. The Shroob Mother Ship appears many times over the course of the game.

History

After Mario and Luigi defeat Bowser and Baby Bowser and saving Princess Peach in Thwomp Caverns, the Shroob Mother Ship sucks Mario, Luigi, the babies (Baby Mario and Baby Luigi) and Peach in. Inside the Mario Bros. find out that Princess Shroob was dressed as Peach. When Princess Shroob is about to suck the vim out of Mario and company, Kylie Koopa, dressed as a Shroob, saves the brothers. The Mario Bros. along with Kylie Koopa go to the second floor, and put a key, that Kylie got in a key hole only to drop them in Toad Town, which is destroyed. Kylie, however, lands in Yoshi's Island.

The Ship itself is largely linear and pseudo-2D, with long, straight sections which wrap around the perimeter of the ship and overlook a vast pool of slime in which several Shroobs are swimming. Guardian Shroobs patrol the area, and can be battled for experience points.

Destruction

Later in the final area, the Mario Bros. use The mothership to destroy various smaller Shroob UFOs, and shortly afterwards Mario and Co. fight against the Shroob Mother Ship by using the head of the Princess Shroob statue. The interior of this head is identical to the room inside the Mother Ship that the Mario Bros. enter to shoot down the UFOs. After defeated, the Shroob Mother Ship will fall down, breaking part of the Shroob Castle, and when the Mario Bros. go to it, the final battle begins.

Trivia

  • The Shroob Mother Ship is the only full-length area in the game that cannot be accessed once the four heroes leave.
