Peach's kart does not chages color depending on the character!!!!!!

I'M MAD. Everytime if I add the fact that a orange kart is in the game wich is similiar to the Birthday Girl, it's removed. The the "not-fact" that the Birthday Girl changes color is added. TAHT'S UNTRUE. Metal Mario is seen driving it. It was pink. Yoshi was seen driving it. It was pink. So, WHAT? That orange kart is seen driven by Daisy. It's not the Birthday Girl. ~ Qyzxf (talk)

Track names

So for some tracks we now have two or three different names for the courses, Japanese translation, European, and North American. Which one are we suppose to use? For instance....when the Star Cup was first revealed the first course was called Piranha Slider. ONM in Europe is calling in Piranha Plant Pipeway, while videos from the LA Auto Show show it as Piranha Plant Slide....so what are we going to do in cases like these? --SinnohMasterGalaxy 10:41, 19 November 2011 (EST)

Our naming conventions would be to go with whatever English translation is released first worldwide I believe. Bop1996 _(Talk)

But doesn't that make it messy? Nintendo Power in North America called it Cheep Cheep Lagoon before ONM called it Cheep Cheep Cape. It doesn't really make sense to use names from various translations. --SinnohMasterGalaxy 10:50, 19 November 2011 (EST)

I agree with SinnohMasterGalaxy. Names like Wuhu Island Loop do not make sense. The Wuhu Island is the flipping island! So why call the other one "Wuhu Mountain Loop"?!? User:YoshiKart7

I mean, gees... You might just as well call Coconut Mall by it's european name, "Coconut Promenade/Marketplace" or call Mushroom Gorge by it's european name, "Mushroom Cliff" or even call Rainbow Road by it's European name, "Rainbow Boulevard/Track"!! User:YoshiKart7

@YoshiKart7 Where did you get those strange names? I'm European and never heard of them. They doesn't exist. And, all articles have the European names (Karts in MKW, DK's Snowboard Cross) ~ Qyzxf (talk)

@Toad'ShyGuy Those strange names are real. However, they are not used in the English version, but they are used in the German version. I did some research and I found out that some track names of Mario Kart 7 are indeed different between the European/Australian version and the American version. Because of the rules, we need to use the European/Australian names. Here is a list of course names with different names (EU fist, US second):

• Cheep Cheep Cape = Cheep Cheep Lagoon
• Wuhu Island Loop = Wuhu Loop
• Melody Motorway = Music Park

There are probabley a little more course names that may differ from between the versions, however I haven't found enough source. Here is some footage of the Leaf Cup (US version), but this video also shows a bit of the menu, with US track names. rend (talk) (edits)

What do you mean by rules we have to use the EU/AU names? I just think it actually makes more sense to go with the NA names since they are the same as the Japanese ones. Not to mention all of the NA track names are known now and I don't believe that the EU/AU have all their tracks named yet. --SinnohMasterGalaxy 00:40, 22 November 2011 (EST)

It's simple. If the game is released first in Europe, we use European names. But if the game released first in North America, we use North American names. Because this game will be released in Europe before America, we use European names. Those are the rules. Even though the American names are mostly the same as the Japanese ones, this isn't a reason to use the American names instead. For example, Art Style: PiCTOBiTS (NA name) is called Art Style: PiCOPiCT in Japan, but it's also called Art Style: PiCOPiCT in Europe. But because it released in America before Europe, we still use the American name, even though the Japanese name is the same as the European name. I would also like to point out that not all the car parts have been revealed yet. Not all the car parts can be confirmed before the release, but some parts probably have different names in Europe as well. If the is game released in Europe, we can more easily add those car parts to MarioWiki, because we don't have to wait for the American name to be revealed. rend (talk) (edits)

No Single Player VS?

The phase "save it for the forums" is not an insult or that we don't answer the questions like that, it encourages you to post in the forum's thread instead. The comments like your one doesn't belong on the article's talk. SWFlash

Save it for the forum is indeed not an insult. Many people make mistakes on what belongs on the talk page and what on the forum. However, I think this question may be asked on the talk page (I may be wrong though). Basically, KoopaKiller13 asked for confirmation of information written on this wiki. It's a question about the hard facts. I don't see any reason why this can't be on the talk. But, it is indeed confirmed VS. is multiplayer only. rend (talk) (edits)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wouldn't have said that if I used my computer more often, it's very slow (as a matter of fact, I just posted this comment with my 3DS), and I've only been here since around September and I never bothered to ask for a link to the forum. Also, I worded that other comment the wrong way. It should've said "I know I should save comments like this for the forum, but single player Vs. is one thing I ain't standing for." And that's because I don't have very many friends. But forcing solo players to either do a set of races, a solo race or no race at all is just OVERKILL! Come on Nintendo! Kart Names

Should we only add the European names for the karts in the Kart Customizing, or should we add both the European and North American names for the karts. User:Username8cp

Am I the only one that thinks the Tiny Tug and "the boat-like kart" are the same? I'm pretty sure that a tug is a type of boat and tug can't mean anything else. Know what I'm sayin'? If it's not confirmed then you should just leave it until we know for sure that "the boat-like kart" is the Tiny Tug or not. Username8cp

Retro Tracks/Stages

I noticed that the game for each retro track is gone. For example N64 Luigi Raceway has been changed to Luigi Raceway (without the "N64" beside the name). Is this better or should we change it back? Username8cp

Well, as I put in one of the edit summaries, even though the game itself shows the system abbreviations in regards to which courses the retro tracks came from, the N64, GBA, etc. links were pointing to the games themselves. For stages like SNES Rainbow Road, people that have never played a Mario Kart game before wouldn't know which game that Rainbow Road is from when their looking at the page. I'm not trying to say that you have to change it back or that you should. User:Username8cp

Actually, the game itself would. I understand where you're coming from on that case, though. Besides, if the developers didn't attach the abbreviations (line SNES Rainbow Road), it's an immediate red flag in terms of consistency with saying which installment that course originally came from. --M. Coins

Has Nintendo confirmed that coins will have the same function as in the original or Super Circuit? I ask because there's no citation and I haven't seen any videos that show the coins working like that. --LazyLord777 05:11, 23 November 2011 (EST)
