Reality vs. Fiction
I was going to make this a Writing Guideline, but I figured I'd get some approval via proposal before I created my draft. A new trend on the wiki is to create articles on generic objects, like Tennis Ball, Basketball Hoop, and Cage. The main problem with this is where does it stop? Allowing these articles could be precedent for a number of useless generic articles being created, such as Template:Fakelink, Template:Fakelink, Template:Fakelink, etc.. I believe we should set a restriction for which of these generic articles can and can't be created. We should only allow articles on generic subjects that have a function which is different from the real world counterpart. (more...)
