How I Became Obsessed with Mario
It all started in late August of 2009, and my family went to a party at someone's house. (Me and my bro were the only kids there.) While there was some downtime, that someone showed me their dual-screen computer, and she showed me what I eventually learned were emulators. There was this game called Super Mario All-Stars. At the time, I didn't know it was a real game, but I liked it a lot. A year later, we went to the same place again. This time, I had a sudden realization: They were all real games, and they were just old ones. That must have sparked something in my brain, and after not even a week, I knew everything Mario. Yeah, interesting story.
My Mario Games
I own quite a few Mario games. Here is a list of all of them, organized by console then alphabetically. Note: I did not make a table because tables are confusing to me. Bulleted lists are much easier.
Nintendo Entertainment System
- 2-in-1 Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt Compilation (1988)
- I enjoy Super Mario Bros. very much. I have never been able to beat the game (stupid World 8-1...) and have gone up to World 5-2 without warps.
- Super Mario Bros. 3 (1990 in USA)
- YESS!!!! YES!!!! I FINALLY GOT MY HANDS ON A COPY OF THIS GAME!!! HALLELUJAH!!! IT WAS SO WORTH THE $20 I SPENT!! YEAH!!! Anyways, this is one of my favorite games and I'm so excited that I got an original copy. Did I mention I was excited to have this game?
GameCube
- Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (2003)
- Whoever came up with the idea of two players to a kart is amazing. I absolutely loved the idea! They probably could have done better on some of the courses, though. I have gotten pretty far, but I haven't gotten Mirror Mode just yet (I played the 150cc All-Cup Tour to unlock it and got 2nd place...what a bummer).
- Mario Party 7 (2005 in USA)
- Nintendo did pretty good with this game. I can't really tell how far I've gotten in the game because it just seems like a party to me (O RLY?!).
- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (2004)
- One of my favorite Mario games and my favorite of the Paper Mario series, this is by far an excellent game filled with puzzles (although they're not so much of puzzles when you have the official Nintendo Power guidebook xD) and some other stuff. I have made it up to the final boss and am stuck on it.
- Super Mario Sunshine (2002)
- Overall, this game is a pretty interesting addition to the Mario series. I have around 16 Shine Sprites right now.
Wii
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (2007 in USA for Wii)
- The idea of combining characters from the Mario and Sonic universes was a pretty good idea for a game like this. I have rarely played this game, though.
- Mario Kart Wii (2008 in USA)
- My favorite game in the Mario Kart series. I have nearly mastered 50cc and 100cc and am currently working on 150cc to unlock Mirror Mode.
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii (2009 in USA)
- Super Mario Galaxy (2007 in USA)
- Another great Mario game. It introduces new gameplay controls that I have taken a liking to. And I finally beat the final boss! The ending was cool. Now it's time to get Super Mario Galaxy 2!
- Super Paper Mario (2007 in USA)
- This is by far an excellent game. I enjoy the platformer-styled enemy fights MUCH better than RPG-style fights. Right now, I'm stuck in Chapter 5-2.
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008 in USA)
- Oh my...this game is AMAZING. I absolutely love it! I'm starting to get better at it, and am trying to get as many unlockables and stuff as I can.
Virtual Console
- Super Mario 64 (Released on VC in 2006)
- One of the best Mario games ever, now remade for the Wii...cool. However, I don't like the controls for it on the Classic Controller.
- Yoshi's Story (Released on VC in 2007)
- I absolutely love this game. It's just so happy! (lol, that's the point of the game.) Right now, I'm having some trouble with Page 2 for some reason.
Game Boy Advance
- Game & Watch Gallery 4 (2002 in USA)
- Yet ANOTHER great game. My favorite feature is the autosave feature. I also like how you can play modernized versions of the games as well as the original Game & Watch games.
- Mario Party Advance (2005)
- I don't like the story mode of this game. However, I love the minigames and Gaddgets you can play with.
- Mario Pinball Land (2004)
- A good game...I never got to the final boss, however. There's really nothing else I could say.
- Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
- I recently got this game. It's awesome!!!! Yoshi's Island is one of my favorite games, and I'm glad to have the GBA remake.
- Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 (2003)
- One of the best games ever, in my opinion. I have perfect-cleared the game almost twice (I'm only a few levels away from the second time XD) and am very good at it.
Nintendo DS
- Mario Hoops 3-on-3 (2006 in USA)
- Good gameplay controls and stuff like that (lol). I finally got around to playing it again.
- Mario Party DS (2007 in USA)
- The minigames and story mode are quite interesting, especially the ending of story mode...
- Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis (2006 in USA)
- Really good game. I have beaten this game once. I especially like the Construction Zone where you can create your own levels.
- Super Mario 64 DS (2004 in USA)
Note: For a while, I've had my friend's Mario Kart DS. It's okay, but I only like playing on the Time Trials or with other people.
My Video Game Achievements
- Perfect Cleared Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 almost twice.
- Beat the final boss of Super Mario 64 DS, but don't have all 150 Power Stars.
- Beat Super Mario Land four times.
- Beat the final boss of Super Mario Galaxy, but don't have all 120 Power Stars.
- July 11, 2011 – Played Super Mario Bros. 3 for two hours straight and perfect-cleared Worlds 1-5.

well one day mario and luigi were walking they stomped on goombas it was nothing interesting until they came to a pipe the pipe led to a place of unknownness wait is that even a word i dont know who cares anyways they went down and found a thingy that warped them to hyrule and they saw weird things then they got back to the mushroom kingdom and ate lotsa spaghetti the end no wait thats not the end it cant be the end this shall go on forever and ever and ever and ever oh noes its a bomb explosion bombs bombs ok back to the story so luigi found more spaghetti and they ate it but then mario found the mask and turned into wario and wario tried to defeat luigi with fireballs but luckily luigi saved mario but then mario was attacked by a koopa wizard and over nine thousand bagels but luigi ate the bagels and found a yoshi egg and yoshi hatched from the egg but then luigi looked and saw that bowser attacked mario and defeated him and took him to his castle so luigi went on a quest to find and defeat bowser so then luigi came to some more things and he found a warp pipe that took him and yoshi underground yoshi found some goombas and started eating them while luigi fell asleep in his sleep luigi farted and yoshi fainted and luigi woke up and saw yoshi and he thought that yoshi was just taking a nap so he let him be while luigi found a way back to the surface luckily he was right in front of bowsers castle so luigi went inside and found mario and the princess in captivity so luigi defeated bowser and saved them so mario and luigi played mario kart wii together and they realized that it would be more fun to race with actual karts so mario and luigi raced across the mushroom kingdom until they came to a wall mario was puzzled so yeah and they found some bombs oh noes not again bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs ok thats enough so yeah they used the bombs bombs bombs to destroy the wall and behind it they found bowser and bowser kidnapped mario and luigi ate some snacks and got really fat for no reason ok so i wonder if this will be continued someday maybe i dont know and i dont care oh my gawd its more bombs oh noes bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs cake the end maybe i dont know so ok bye bye
