Template:Location-infobox Isle Delfino is an vacational island resort shaped like a dolphin (alongside the smaller Pinna Island) where Piantas, Nokis, Yoshis, and Tanookis live. Mario, Peach, Toadsworth and some Toads take a trip to this island in Super Mario Sunshine.

However during the game, the island is full of graffiti made by Shadow Mario who the people think is Mario. Mario, with the help of the water pack F.L.U.D.D, is forced to get rid of all the paint on the island.

The island reappeared in many spin-offs, such as the Mario Kart series.

Other Appearances

Mario Kart

Isle Delfino has appeared in three of the Mario Kart games with new courses and stages based on it. In in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, a course named Peach Beach was introduced, which took place on the shore of Isle Delfino. After the player completed a Grand Prix, the award ceremony was also held there. Mario Kart DS featured a new course called Delfino Square, of which takes place in autumn instead of the usual tropical weather. In Mario Kart Wii, both these courses returned in the Retro cups, along with a new battle stage called Delfino Pier, which likely takes place in the docking area of Delfino Plaza. A new track named Coconut Mall is speculated to take place on Isle Delfino, since the owners of the mall are mostly Piantas.

Trivia

File:Delfino islands.JPG
Isle Delfino and surrounding islands.
  • Isle Delfino is called Delfino because it is shaped like a dolphin, and it is probably shaped like this because the GameCube's codename in development was Dolphin.
  • Delfino means Dolphin in Italian.
  • The locations in Isle Delfino are named half English, half Italian in the English version. In other translations of the games, the names are fully Italian.
  • In the intro of the game, the player can see other islands surrounding Isle Delfino, five of which are shaped like a manta ray (west), crab (southwest), a small fish (south), sea turtle (east) and jellyfish (northeast) respectively. These islands have never appeared in a game.
  • In Super Mario Sunshine, all of Isle Delfino (except for Noki Bay) is in a constant heatwave, which caused the Piantas to adapt to the heat by growing trees on their heads.
  • Isle Delfino, as a whole, was shortened into minor sections of Peach Beach.
  • In Super Mario Sunshine, Blue Toad mentions that Yoshis lived on the island a long time ago.
