Trivia
- The name "Davy Bones" is derived from the old sea legend of Davy Jones' Locker; in fact, the level Davy Bones is encountered in is called "Davy Bones' Locker".
- Davy Bones bares limited resemblance to the Yoshi's Story enemy Bone Dragon. Interestingly, the two characters' posing in their official artwork is also very uncanny.
- In DK: King of Swing's sequel, DK: Jungle Climber, there is a dragon boss that is very similar to Davy Bones in both appearance and the way Donkey Kong fights it.
