MS-DOS
MS-DOS (short for Microsoft Disk Operating System), is a operating system produced by Microsoft. MS-DOS can be found only on Microsoft computers. It is generally used to access one's computer files via operative syntax programming. MS-DOS was popular in the 1980's, acting as a primary operating system for businesses and personal computers. MS-DOS also had the ability to run programs. One program that MS-DOS was able to run was Mario is Missing!, a Mario edutainment game. Mario is Missing! was originally released for PCs, only able to be playable via the use of MS-DOS. However, the game was later released on the NES, SNES, and was rereleased on the PC; the PC rerelease did not require the player to use MS-DOS to access the game. Mario is Missing! was the only Mario game to ever be programmed specifically for MS-DOS's coding compatibility.
