Template:Diff Template:Form-infobox Frog Mario is an alternate form of Mario that can be attained by acquiring a Frog Suit in the game Super Mario Bros. 3. Frog Mario can swim faster than regular Mario, allowing him to overcome currents in his path. Controlling Mario while swimming is also easier, as he can stop instantly, in a single spot in the water, and swim in any direction. However, Frog Mario's walking and running ability is greatly decreased. In fact, Frog Mario can only hop on the ground like a Frog. As such, Frog Mario's jumping ability is greater than regular Mario's. Frog Mario was of great help in World 3 of Super Mario Bros. 3, Seaside. Also, Frog Mario can run when carrying an item such as a Koopa Shell.

In The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, Princess Toadstool and Toad were also able to use the Frog Suit to transform into Frog Toadstool and Frog Toad respectively.

Trivia

  • If Mario or Luigi beats an Airship in this form, the King of the world will say, "Oh me, oh my! You've been transformed! Shall I change you back with this wand?".
  • In the Club Nintendo comic "Mario will hoch hinaus", Mario is seen jumping around, saying "It's great to be a frog", despite not wearing the Frog Suit.
  • In "7 Continents for 7 Koopas", Mario briefly referred to his and Luigi's Frog forms as "Frog-Ups" ("We've got to get out of these Frog-Ups and find Raccoon Power...").
  • In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the penguin suit is much more helpful than the frog suit, because Mario doesn't hop when walking, and he can shoot ice balls at enemies, while the frog suit was unable to attack.
