Clothing are items in the Mario & Luigi series that serve much like armor in SMRPG. Clothing mainly exists to boost defense power, but some clothes boost other stats as well.

¹ Allows the characters to always move first.
² Enemies will always drop Mushrooms.
³ 60% chance of evading the Poison status.
⁴ Randomizes gravity for each attack to either Normal, Heavy or Light.
⁵ More Mushrooms in possession means more frequent Lucky hits.
⁶ Luigi's turn will always come right after Mario's.
⁷ Automatically recovers 2 HP every turn.
⁸ Luigi's turn will always come right before Mario's.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

This article is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.

For Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, the clothing system received an overhaul. In this game, there are several different clothing types available. These include overalls, gloves, socks, boots, and accessories for the Mario Bros, and shells, arm bands, rings, and fangs for Bowser. The maximum number of articles of clothing that a character may equip is dependent on rank, but two of the same type of clothing can never be equipped simultaneously. Since the function of badges has also been overhauled, most of badges' old functions are now applied to articles of clothing.
