Slides are secret places from certain levels in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS.

Princess Peach's Castle's Secret Slide

This slide is perhaps the the shortest of all. It contains 80 Coins, a Yellow ! Block that contains a Star, and a 1-Up Mushroom that is hidden behind the Yellow ! Block. It is the only slide that is not in an actual level. It can be accessed by going into the stain-glass picture of Peach on the right of the room on the second floor. It contains two stars, one in the Yellow ! Block mentioned above. The other appears after completing the slide in 20.9 seconds or less. It is also available as a playable course in the download multiplayer for Super Mario 64 DS.

Cool, Cool Mountain's Penguin Racetrack

This slide is the only slide that has an intentional shortcut; however, be careful with it. If the player race the penguin and use the shortcut, he will not give you the Star. The track is made of snow and ice, so it's slippery and thus fairly hard. It has more than 50 yellow coins and one blue one that only appears at the beginning of the race, 2 1-Up Mushrooms (both in the shortcut, one of which is unattainable), a Yellow ! Block that contains a 1-Up Mushroom, and a Star (the reward given to the player by the penguin). At the very end of the race, there is thin bridge made of sheer ice. To race on the track, one must enter through the chimney of the cabin the player first see when he or she start the level.

Tall, Tall Mountain's Smiley Joyride

This one may be the trickiest slide in the game. It, unlike the others, features sharper turns and detours, and even a trick path. The track has a couple of 1-up Mushrooms and a Star at the end. This track is also required for the 100 Coin Star in Tall Tall Mountain, as it contains more than 35 Coins. If the Star appears on the slide, it must be obtained right away, or it will disappear due to the loading point separating the slide and the Mountain itself. To get to this slide the player has to go near the top of the mountain (just past Fwoosh) and find a place that looks like an ordinary wall, but is accessible like a painting. It is just behind the string of five coins.
