Many pages require that you do not sign with particular signature codes when you post something on it. These pages, however, could not be very specific with there rules on signatures, causing many users to dodge the rules that are on the page. This page was specifically created to go more into depth on the No-Signature Policy.

Rules

  1. Some of the signature codes that are not allowed are ~~~(~) and {{User:User Name Here/sig}}.
  2. Some of these signatures ruin the counting on voting style pages, particularly signatures with images.
  3. No signatures are allowed, even if some doesn't ruin the counting on these specific pages. It wouldn't be fair if some signatures were allowed and others not allowed.
  4. Some of the signature codes that are allowed are {{User|User Name Here}} and [[User:User Name Here|Whatever]].
  5. Some users like to dodge the rules and put images and then the allowed coding. This is not allowed. Images are one of the original reasons signatures were banned on these pages.
  6. Other forms of signing can be used, however, use common sense. If you think it might break the rules, it probably will. One example of another form of signing that is allowed is [[User talk:User Name Here|Whatever]].
  7. Sysops/Bureaucrats hold the right to delete/change any signatures they believe break the above rules within reason. They also hold the right to add rules (or amend a current rule) to this page without making a proposal for it, any other user will have to make a proposal or ask a Sysop/Bureaucrat to add the suggested rule.
  8. A user that posts an signature deemed illegal by these rules will have to change it or have it changed. Repeated abusers will be dealt with by a Sysop/Bureaucrat.
  9. All users hold the right to enforce the No-Signature Policy on userspace that they own, as well as the talkpages that belong to those pages, without pre-approval or permit.
