Board Bowser's Sub

This is the first Power Star of Dire, Dire Docks in Super Mario 64. This is such a key star and will activate the entrance to Bowser in the Fire Sea. When the player collect the star from the top of the sub, it will get rid of the sub through an opening of the side of the level. It will also allow poles to appear which will help the player collect the Red Coin star.

Shortcut

When the player have already completed the star and he/she try to do the red coin star, the player can still collect the star floating in mid-air. Of course, the star will only be shadowed because it has already been collected. The player have to jump on the pole and time Mario jump correctly to collect the star in mid-air. It's fun, try it.
