Some Toads have been infected with the Metakoro Disease and are now in a hospital resting.

The Metakoro Disease is a disease that is central to the plot of Mario & Luigi RPG 3. During the events of the game, it has spread all over the Mushroom Kingdom and infected many Toads. When affected with this disease, victims grow large and round. The cause and cure for this disease are unknown. It is assumed that Mario and Luigi are searching for the cure.
