Meteor Shot

The Meteor Shot is Black Mage's Special Shot in Mario Hoops 3-on-3. It can be activated by tapping out a star shape twice. The sequence starts with the formation of a bright purple rune.[1] The ball glows purple as Black Mage moves it around before casting it straight up into the air. For visual effect, several meteors fall from the sky, and the ball is inside of a large meteor that slams into the basket, forming a brief burst of fire. If Meteor Shot is used outside of the three-point line, Black Mage instead uses his wand to shoot the ball, which glows red as it travels through the air, requiring a teammate to dunk it.[2]
The move's name is derived from Meteor, the most powerful Black Magic spell in the Final Fantasy games.
