Category talk:Super Mario-kun
Make a category for characters?
I'm looking through this category, and while the majority of it relates to unique aspects of the manga, Sushie and Ice Flower are randomly here despite not originating in Super Mario-kun. At the same time, I was just thinking that a characters category could be useful to keep track of which characters actually appear in the series, since many characters are cut, especially more major ones you wouldn't expect (they literally got rid of all the Punies in the TTYD arc, what). Not sure about the Ice Flower thing, but maybe an items category could be considered later, similar to this character one?
Alternatively, we could just make a "List of characters in Super Mario-kun" page. I just think something to keep track of all the characters who appear is useful when this adaptation does often differ drastically from the games. Technetium (talk) 08:25, August 30, 2024 (EDT)
- Cursorily, while some characters are cut from Super Mario-kun, I think there is a real benefit to having a category narrowly focused on the subjects that debuted in the series. I worry a category that contains all subjects would be very cluttered. I recommend establishing a second category to sit alongside this one, either a "Category:Subjects that debuted in Super Mario-kun" to inherit the role of this this one, or a "Category:Subjects that appear in Super Mario-kun" for your idea. - Yeah, that makes a ton of sense - not sure if there are any new characters in Kun yet as I'm only just getting started with covering it here, but it would make what goes in this category less confusing and prevent stuff like Ice Flower from being added in the future. I never meant to replace this category to be clear, just seemed like the best place to bring it up. Maybe the latter should just be characters? If it's all possible subjects, I'd feel that would get extremely long - then again, it is just a category, not a list page, hmm... Could be split into items, characters, etc maybe. - Maybe the unique / debuting subjects could be a subcategory of Super Mario-kun? Like the ones for volumes and images. Just worried then the main category will only have like two pages in it. I may also just focus on making a Characters that appear in Super Mario-kun category for now, and maybe make further new subcategories for specifics like items and locations.
