“Brrrrooo ha ha ha ha... A touching scene, to be sure.”
Bonechill, Super Paper Mario

Bonechill is the third-to-last boss in Super Paper Mario. He can fire ice bullets from the large cannon he sits upon, and he has icy breath that can make icicles on the ceiling. He has 80 HP and an attack of 4. His ice breath attack is potentially the deadliest, because until the player breaks free by shaking the Wii Remote, the player's character loses 4 HP per second, which is more than any other freezing attack. He was stuck in a unknown prison in The Underwhere along with a Skellobit army. Count Bleck set him free to defeat Mario (who was the hero of legend as told in the Light Prognosticus) and steal Luvbi (who was actually a Pure Heart); he failed and was shattered to bits. It is implied that he was once a Nimbi, particularly by his speech and the small white wings on his back. The player can use the blue blocks on his face as a HP Gauge, as they gradually diminish as he takes damage.

Tattle: That's Bonechill. This frigid boss escaped from his prison in The Underwhere...Max HP is 80. Attack is 4. Bonechill will only be hurt by attacks to his head...To hit his head you'll need Luigi's super jump, or Thoreau to toss icicles...Bonechill's icy breath can freeze you into a soild herocicle...I don't know why, but I get the feeling he's related to Grambi and the Nimbis...I wonder if he was once a...

Personality

While his personality is not shown as much as that of others, there are some defining traits. Bonechill speaks eloquently (a possible hint of his former Nimbi status?) and is somewhat arrogant. He looks with disdain upon the Nimbis, and is quick to let loose with his signature "Brrrrooo ha ha ha ha..." laugh.

Trivia

  • According to The InterNed, Bonechill's theme is called "Bonechill Appears."
  • The concept of an Nimbi/Angel becoming a devilish creature is somewhat similar to the fallen Angel "Lucifer" from the Bible, who became the devil after betraying God. Also, note that in Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, Lucifer (or Satan) is imprisoned in the deepest level of Hell in ice.
