King Bob-omb's Boom D'état is a Boss Battle minigame in Mario Party: Star Rush. Its name is a word play on the phrase coup d'état, which refers to an illegal and often violent transfer of state power.

Gameplay

King Bob-omb spawns bombs. The ground is marked with red cross-hairs to indicate where they will land. If any bomb falls directly on a player, it immediately explodes and stuns them, making them lose a point. Once the bombs have landed, players can carry one by standing near one and pressing A Button. Bombs eventually explode, but some bombs explode earlier than others. Any players caught in the explosion are momentarily stunned and lose one point. To earn points, players must stand near a cannon and press A Button to place the bomb in the cannon. The cannon then launches the bomb and damages King Bob-omb and gives the player one point. Cannons can use only one bomb each; if a cannon loads and launches a bomb, it then disappears. Occasionally, King-Bob-omb taunts the player if they do not throw the bomb in the cannon.

After King Bob-omb loses half of his health, King Bob-omb becomes enraged and spawns more bombs. Some bombs are large, however, and award three points. They are heavier, so they limit movement. The player that deals the finishing blow to King Bob-omb earns three points. The players with the most points win the minigame.

Ending

King Bob-omb falls to the ground after being damaged by bombs, then explodes. In Toad Scramble, he reveals a Star upon exploding.
