Mole Tanks are mole-shaped tanks that a Yoshi can transform into in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island by touching a morph bubble with its picture inside. Although the Mole Tank is yellow in its artwork, the Yellow Yoshi never gets the opportunity to morph into a Mole Tank.

The Mole Tank can dig through soft ground and can be rotated into four directions (up, down, left and right) with the D-pad. One of its main advantages is its ability to drive along walls and the ceiling without falling down. It is also smaller than a regular Yoshi, enabling the tank to fit through small openings.

Mole Tanks also appear in Yoshi's Island DS, in which they have a similar role.

Yoshi morphs to a Mole Tank after eating a morph bubble in volume 14 of the Super Mario-kun. This allows Yoshi, Mario, Baby Mario, and Luigi to dig underground. While underground, Yoshi nearly eats a Monty Mole before quickly going further underground, but upon doing so, Kamek gives the Mole Tank a beating with his hammer. Unlike in the game, the Mole Tank power-up stays for a set period of time and does not transport Yoshi back to where Yoshi got the morph bubble.
