Talk:Squiddicus
It there any kind of guide that says whether Squiddicus is an octopus or a squid? It looks more like an octopus, but its name kind of indicates that it could be a squid. Fawfulfury65
- First off, its name is obviously a combination of the two words, secondly, no, there is no guide. But the number of tentacles (squid have 12, octopus have 8) gives away its species. Marioguy1 (talk)
Well if there is, I have never heard of it. And I'm pretty sure there are other deciding factors on their species. Marioguy1 (talk)
- I have DKCR, and I don't see him anywhere in the booklet. Nintendo makes many portmanteaus of animals, so it could be said he's a octopus and squid. He may most likely be a squid because half of his name refers to a squid. Supremo
Japanese Name origin

The article currently states that the Japanese name probably puns off of Gojira (Godzilla), but that didn't seem right, so I looked up "Godzilla Squid Monster," and found this. Not only is it a closer species, but the name is structured more similarly (think "Octopus-ora" vs "Squid arm-ora;" both "Tako" and "Gesso" go into "ora" better). The problem, however, is that this creature is obscure enough not to warrant an actual Wikipedia page, so that brings down the likelihood a bit. Thoughts?
