Hey, when you writing out information make sure to follow our writing guidelines, specifically capitalising proper nouns like Donkey Kong. Also, in regards to Hammer Bro., you missed out the ending reference, hence why the information disappeared. In case something similar happens again and you can't figure why, ask another experienced user to help rather than removing the content that's disappeared. Thanks. Yoshi876 (talk)

Image categories
Hello, Doomhiker. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
When categorising images, uncategorized
must be replaced with a category link, like
, not
. Square brackets link to pages (e.g. Papercraft
generates Papercraft), not curly brackets (e.g. Papercraft
), which transcludes the page instead. Mario JC 10:13, 19 August 2018 (EDT)
Spelling
Hi, we use American spelling standards on this wiki; as such, words like "colour" should be written as "color." Thank you, and continue editing. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:16, 23 August 2018 (EDT)

Re: Minor Questions
Hey there! So for images not on the wiki, still format them within your section as if they were the way you want it(i.e. File.Doomhiker.png). Don't upload them to the wiki, but when you send in your section to your team director, provide the images via URL from an image-hosting site (such as Imgur) and label them if you have more than one. When the 'Shroom releases, I upload all of the images and then it looks as you intend it. I hope that answers your question. Feel free to message me if you need help with anything else. Image extensions
Hello! Thank you for your recent uploads and contributions. Just wanted to let you know that, per policy, the extension at the end of the filename should be lowercase rather than uppercase (for example, .png or .jpg instead of .PNG or .JPG). Thanks! --TheFlameChomp (talk) 18:36, 8 November 2018 (EST)
Power Moon redirects
Hi, please remember to create an all-lowercase version for every redirect that has at least one uncapitalized word. For example, as of this message, searching for "past the moving wall" leads to no page, even if you created the "Past the Moving Wall" redirect. However, redirects that have all words capitalized do not require an uncapitalized version. Good job so far and keep it going! -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 14:38, 11 November 2018 (EST)
RE: Big Bertha
There is one rude thing I wrote on Doc's talk page, the one with the crying, and the random captions on the Big Bertha page. I would like you to show me more rude comments that I made; to see if you just assumed that I did that multiple times and that you didn't actually look at my contribution page, because, well, I did! It's also not like these two mini-insults are pushing the boundaries or anything. And also seeing you writing this just a few lines under Link's post where he said that the random captions made his eyes bleed takes all of your objectiveness on that point of view away. New pages
Thanks for helping with article creation lately. For future reference:
- The name of the article, when first mentioned, is simply bolded as
Killing Edge
, notKilling Edge
- For articles on games, TV shows, films, publications etc. italics are added, so it's bolded as
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- For articles on games, TV shows, films, publications etc. italics are added, so it's bolded as
- Goes without saying, but every title for games, game series, films etc. must be italicised as well, including non-Mario franchises like
Fire Emblem
(as I noticed your most recent article was missing them).
The Manual of Style lists everything you need to know about creating articles. Mario JC 08:43, 24 November 2018 (EST)

RE: Advice
Thank you. I am sorry for messing up with that before, to be honest, I am not the best with wiki formatting. I had messed that up before, but I think I understand now, so thank you for the help.

RE: Vandal Talk Pages
Ok. Thanks for telling me. Mari0fan100 (talk) 14:00, 13 January 2019 (EST)
- However, I noticed that Blurry Horizon's talk page got deleted because it was a vandal talk page, but it contained more than the block template. Before it got deleted, DKPetey99 posted a Warning Template and a Last Warning on that talk page. Should that talk page have been deleted, or should it have been kept? Mari0fan100 (talk) 15:07, 13 January 2019 (EST)
- Per Template:Block, Talk pages of permanently banned users are viable for deletion and do not need the template. However, exceptions can be made for talk pages deemed useful for possible future references. The reason that Blurry Horizon's talk page got deleted was because it was only warnings while Sonicperson's talk page has an italics reminder, and the reason Sonicperson got blocked was because he kept creating sockpuppet accounts, so his talk page was deemed useful for possible future references if other sockpuppets using his ip address are created, to prevent potentially unbanned sockpuppets used to evade a ban. Doomhiker (talk) 15:27, 13 January 2019 (EST)
Informal Reminder
Your oppose of my first proposal may have been valid, but in case you didn't know, YoshiStar28 wasn't blocked because of vandalism. He was blocked for being a sockpuppet of an existing, but blocked, account. Plus, not all people who get blocked on the holidays are vandals. Mari0fan100 (talk) 22:08, 18 January 2019 (EST)
- True, but if you look at YoshiStar28's contributions before he/she was banned, their edits were constructive and in good faith. The edits weren't even close to vandalism, spamming, or flaming. Mari0fan100 (talk) 14:08, 20 January 2019 (EST)
Re: Aboutfile-reminder clarification
No problem! I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't an argument, and that both of you knew what was the best way to go forward. So yeah, for a bit of future clarification, you issue someone the template if they repeatedly leave in empty aboutfiles or parameters (so, for example, the may leave a line in like |5= and not put anything after it, that's not OK), but it's fine if they remove it completely. Their use is encouraged, but it's not compulsory. So don't worry, we all make mistakes sometimes, just keep this in mind for future reference. :) BBQ Turtle (talk) 15:52, 24 January 2019 (EST)
Thanks!
Hey, thanks for rewriting and removing the flowery sections of the Super Mario Sluggers article! Now it can stay featured... or at least I think so! There's more opposes than supports for the unfeature article nomination, and I have you to thank for it. Mari0fan100 (talk) 21:24, 27 January 2019 (EST)

Ghosts template
Back in the day, there were templates for birds, fire creatures, ice creatures, etc., that were deleted for being overly-large categories-in-template-form. That's exactly what the "ghosts" template is. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:19, 28 January 2019 (EST)
Bullet Bill
Those dots were quite obviously just the result of a bad rip, or saving a .gif in MS Paint. They do not have that in-game. I'm rather annoyed at you for that. Be more careful next time. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:36, 8 February 2019 (EST)
- You would do much better to look at this extremely recently-ripped sprite sheet, with palette-encoding details and everything. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:46, 8 February 2019 (EST)
RE:Mama Luigi
For starters, I'm pretty sure Bowser says something about retreating after Baby Yoshi eats the key out of his hands. (This is before he talks about Yoshi "going on a crash diet".) (T|C) 12:46, 10 February 2019 (EST)
