Time Limit
A time limit (or simply Time) is a staple of the main Mario franchise platform games, and its basic job is to notify the player about how much time is available for the completion of a Level or a task stands; When the timer reaches zero, the player loses Life, regardless of power-ups, including invincibility of Super Star (and if time runs out when the player has no more lives, it will beGame Over). An in-game "second" is about 0.6 or 0.7 seconds (in Super Mario Bros. , an in-game "second" takes 0.4 seconds, giving 24 frames in 60Hz NTSC or 20 frames in 50Hz PAL <ref> 60 Hz = 60 frames per second, ie the number of frames in 0.4 seconds = 0.4 * 60 = 24 frames, as well as 0.4 * 50 = 20 frames, and in New Super Luigi U and in Super Mario Maker , it takes a second). When the time limit drops below 100 units of time, the "Eil-Up" jingle sounds to warn that the player has too little time and plays the music of the level at a hurried pace. In recent Mario games, if Mario loses a life after striking a checkpoint flag, the timeout will be adjusted if he restarts the level from that point.
Once the player has finished a level, the remaining time is multiplied by a number (usually 50) and then added to the score (or coin) of the player in [[[Super Mario 3D Land]] '). With a few exceptions (eg in Super Mario World , 'Super Mario 3D Land' 'and' 'Super Mario 3D World' ') it is impossible to increase the time of a level limit. In Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario 3D World, the timeout turns red when it drops below 100.
Deadlines also appear in several other games such as the Mario Kart series, Mario Party series (Mario Party) series, Super Smash Bros. series Super-Smash Bros. series and various Mario sports games where they work as simple timers for a specific game session. In "Mario & Wario (Mario & Wario)", a variation of the usual timer called timepiece, on pages 6 and 10. </ ref>), represented by a bar instead of numbers.
amounts
Most stages of the original "Super Mario Bros." took 400 seconds to play, ie 160 seconds in real time (2 minutes 40 seconds).
Trivia
- A list of Super Mario World Glitches # Green Berries and music speed | Glitch in Super Mario World ] involves dropping the timer below 100 to make the music faster, and then using Yoshi to eat a green berry bring the time limit back over 100. When the timer reaches 100 again, the music becomes faster a second time; This can be repeated several times for the game to play very fast.
- In older 'Super Mario Bros.' Play and Super Mario World, if there are 1000 or more seconds to complete the level, the first digit on the timer may be a letter, space or piece of terrain (usually this glitch is only in Glitch Levels and in Super Mario World only through hacking available). For example, if the timer is █00 and █ is 36, the player has 3600 seconds to finish the level. From 4000 to 4099 seconds, the timer has a negative number because that represents - 40. The maximum time is 25599 seconds.
