Time machine
Time Machines are special devices that allow people to travel through the time. Two time machines have appeared in the Mario series of games.
The first time machine was used by Bowser during the events of Mario's Time Machine to steal various items of historical importance from throughout the world in different time periods. These artifacts were placed in his museum within his castle. Mario used the time machine to return the items to their proper time period, and foiled Bowser's plot.
The second time machine was invented by Elvin Gadd in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. This Time Machine is powered by the Cobalt Stars.
The Time Machine was what caused all the problems in the game. Peach, Toadiko, and Toadbert got on it and went to the past, where they got kidnapped by the Shroobs during the takeover of Princess Peach's Castle. The Time Machine was also used by Junior Shrooboid to come into the future.
The Time Machine also made Time Holes appear in the castle.
