Template:Infobox Mario Hoops 3-on-3 -- Dribble Skillz was an online Flash game originally published on the official Mario Hoops 3-on-3 website. It was also listed and playable in the Nintendo Arcade, a section on nintendo.com, among other promotional web games.[1] However, the game was removed entirely from the website's servers.

Gameplay

The objective of the game was to dribble several basketballs for as long as possible, using Mario's hand which was controlled with the mouse. The player could only move the hand horizontally and the game started with only one basketball to dribble. More basketballs gradually spawned, demanding better timing to catch all of them. Each time a ball bounced off the floor, the hand had to send it back. For every dribble, 10 points were added to the score.

The player should have aimed to hit the ? boxes that appeared on the ground, which gave one coin at each hit; whenever the ? box was hit a fifth time, it gave five coins and warped to another spot on the ground. Coins, however, did not increase the score, but were added to a separate counter. Sometimes, Green Shells appeared and slid across the field, and if hit by a ball, they deducted 50 points from the score and disappeared, causing the ball to move faster.

The player was given five lives, which they lost one by one if they missed catching the basketballs. After the game was over, the player was shown the final score, which was the product between the in-game score and the number of coins earned.
