Clean up or delete this page

Template:SettledTPP Template:ProposalOutcome Another generic subject; I seriously could not have made myself any clearer. It could be a disambiguation page, though I'd like to see some comments on this.

Clean up

  1. Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per proposal.
  2. Alex95 (talk) - I'm for a disambiguation page if we need it. Otherwise delete.
  3. Ultimate Mr. L (talk) There's no need to include information on elephants who already have their own articles.

Do nothing

  1. Time Turner (talk) An elephant appears as an obtainable item in Mario is Missing. That alone makes it of note. Until I know what will change about the article, my vote remains as it is.
  2. Niiue (talk) I'd support repurposing this to be about the Mario is Missing item specifically, but considering how vague this proposal is, I'm gonna have to oppose for now.
  3. Chester Alan Arthur (talk) per all this proposal is to vague to pass.
  4. Lcrossmk8 (talk) How in the world is this thing generic by any means? I think we have got enough coverage on this thing, and it does make notable appearances in the Mario series. This proposal is too vague on what is generic and what is not. Is it the lack of information or is it the fact that there is not enough information on it to make for a good article? I don't know.
  5. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) Per all, especially Turner.
  6. LuigiMaster123 (talk) - Proposal is way too short, therefore, I say do nothing.

Comments

@Time Turner Even so, the information on other elephants should be removed, as they just make this an overly detailed disambiguation page.

I won't argue against the article's fluff, but it shouldn't be completely deleted or disambiguated. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 12:24, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
Perhaps the item can have its own page as Elephant (item)? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 12:24, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
Hey, I never said that we were deleting everything. This is actually a similar scenario to Beehive. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 12:34, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
You didn't specify anything. This proposal does not make its options clear in the slightest. What are we even voting for or against? Hello, I'm Time Turner. 12:37, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
The title says it all. Clean up the article or get rid of it altogether. If that's the title, shouldn't there be two support options? At the moment, I don't find myself either opposing or supporting, but maybe later on, I might support. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 20:33, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
What would you be supporting? Cleaning up the article or deleting the article are two very different options, and the proposal does not make anything clear. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:01, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
Split "support" into two options; therefore, everyone should more or less review their votes. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 22:13, 28 October 2017 (EDT)

My problem with the previous proposal was twofold: the item in Mario is Missing! existed, and the proposer didn't adequately explain what would happen to the article should the "clean up" option pass. Now that the MiM information has been separated into Baby Elephant, the decision becomes a lot easier for me: this page should be deleted entirely. Every section covers a subject that is either far too generic and unimportant (including Donkey Kong Country Returns, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, and The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, the latter of these being backed up by the deletion of (backed up by Giraffe), or is better detailed in an individual article (including Baby Elephant, Ellie the Elephant, and Mona's Elephant). If you want a list of every elephant, that's why we have categories. Nothing of value would be lost if this page was deleted.
