Azalea
Azalea is a female golfer in the Mario Golf series. She is a human, as are many other golfers in the series. She first appeared in Mario Golf for the Game Boy Color as one of the four main playable characters to pick and train. According to the manual, she was seventeen years old and is an experienced athlete who also runs track. A few years later, she was defeated by Kid, but after his career crippling accident she defeated Tiny and took the title as Champion of the Dunes course.
Appearance
Azalea happens to look very much alike the character Princess Daisy. Not only do they have alike hairstyles and hair color, but they also wear the same colors in their outfits. These two have never been shown communicating with each other and have actually never been in the same game, but one might expect them to be related considering the uncanny appearances and floral related names. One reason Daisy, one of the highly reoccurring characters in Mario spin-offs, may haven't appeared in the game may be because of her similar appearance to Azalea. This is odd considering Daisy is much more a useful character.
