Koopa Kurl
Template:Minigame-infobox Koopa Kurl is a duel minigame found in Mario Party Advance. It is based on the Real World sport of curling, which is referenced in the title, although "curl" was corrupted to "kurl" to form a piece of alliteration with "Koopa".
In Shroom City, Koopa Kurl is played at Bowser Lab. If the player selects to view the "scary" monster, Naval Piranha appears, and Bowser has the player face it in this game. By defeating her, the player earns the minigame and the Gaddget Magic Lamp.
Gameplay
The players attempt to gain points by using Koopa Shells, throwing them into a certain spot that awards points. Both players have different colored Koopa Shells to make it more color-coded as they attempt to gain points on their own. When it is the player's turn, they can adjust the aim as the power bar at the bottom right corner. The player will throw the Koopa Shell slowly if the power bar line is on the bright yellow; they will throw the Koopa Shell fast if the power bar line is on the red. When tossing a shell, players can knock around any shells that are already on the field, which can result in decreasing or increasing either player's point totals.
At the far right side, there is a floor that looks like a target.
- At the outside side of the target, it shows twenty points.
- Next, at the second outside side, it shows thirty points.
- Then at the near core side, it shows fifty points.
- Last but not least, there is a core side; it shows one hundred points.
At the middle side of the field, there is a row of colored circles.
- The large blue circle is worth twenty points.
- The small red circle is worth fifteen points.
- And lastly, the small blue circle is worth twenty-five points.
In addition, there are two narrow, yellow, rectangular bars that have x2s on them between the rows of circles; if one of the player's Koopa Shell stops on one of the yellow, narrow, rectangular bars while having points, the player’s points are doubled.
The minigame consists of two rounds; both players will save the points as the Koopa Shells disappear and a second round will start. Using the x2 bar does not double the saved points as both players have to gain their own points and can use the x2 bars. The player who has the most points total at the end of both rounds wins.
