Miis in Nintendo Switch
I know this console won't be a Wii or Wii U system, but will Miis or Avatars would be in this hybird console or no? --RodneytheMiiGuy 11:14, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
- It is not confirmed yet. So all it will be is speculation. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 11:16, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
- Haven't seen anything yet, but it's possible. 11:16, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
- I think there's a picture of it. You have to zoom in if you want a better look. Link: https://imgur.com/9iHg3dD --RodneytheMiiGuy 03:46, 13 January 2017 (EST)

I found another link. Hopefully this one won't do the same thing as the last one. http://kotaku.com/nintendo-answers-and-avoids-our-switch-questions-1791402953--Nintendoplayerawesome 08:32, 22 January 2017 (EST)
Skyrim?
Many people have identified Skyrim as being one of the games for this new console, and Bethesda even tweeted about being a publishing partner with Nintendo. Aidanzapunk (talk) 12:44, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
- That was indeed an Elder Scrolls title. But what barring does that have on a Mario Wiki? 13:02, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
- ...Good point. Aidanzapunk (talk) 13:15, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
In regards to Mario Kart
I think this should help clear up the whole King Boo thing. Aidanzapunk (talk) 12:18, 21 October 2016 (EDT)
- Worth noting that this was back in April, so can't say for certain if this is solid info. It's something and it's interesting, but it's might be best to wait for more information. 12:23, 21 October 2016 (EDT)

This will provide a closer look on the mario kart in the nintendo switch, it lets us see a closer look of the opening of the track, there are several characters like baby rosalina were seen only in the opening of the track. --70.117.102.105 17:59, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
- A lot of stuff in that video footage is already covered in this article. Ray Trace(T|C) 18:06, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
Create Articles for Nintendo Switch's Mario Games
I think to make Articles of Switch's Super Mario and Mario Kart games. --Red Yoshi 1.5 & Squid Sisters (talk) 15:34, 27 October 2016 (EDT)
- Not yet. There's not enough to go off of, so wait until more info is revealed. There's a Switch press conference coming up in January, so maybe then. 15:37, 27 October 2016 (EDT)
- Yeah, everything should be contained on this page for now.
Nintendo Switch Presentation is coming up in January 12 or 13.

Wii U
Just curious but should we not list the Wii U as its predecessor? If not how come? - Kreshla 11:20pm (EST) Jan, 14/17
- Well, to answer your question, I wouldn't consider the Wii U to be its predecessor for a variety of reasons I won't go into, because I don't know. Maybe someone else might help. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 23:38, 14 January 2017 (EST)
- That news was being reported back when the Switch was still just "NX", and all info about the thing was still very vague. Nintendo plainly states the Switch to be a "home video game console" (see the "overview" video here). And shortly after its October reveal, Nintendo Japan revealed that it was to stop Wii U production, whereas the 3DS will continue to be supported. With the Wii U and Switch both being home consoles, and one of them being "discontinued" in favor of the other, I think we can just say that the Switch is the "successor" to the Wii U.
Backwards Compatibility
Are there any details if this console will have backwards compatibility with Wii U games? Excluding handhelds and starting with the Wii, Nintendo has made an effort to make older games compatible with a newer system at launch.
Initial Launch | Backwards Compatible |
---|---|
Wii | GameCube |
Wii U | Wii, GameCube(homebrew and SSB4 adapter only) |
Nintendo Switch | Wii UTemplate:Refneeded |

- Doubtful. The Switch uses Cartridges/Game Cards with no indication of supporting disks.--Thatguy62 (talk) 15:59, 16 January 2017 (EST)
- What about games in a non-optical format (Mario Kart 8) officially released on the eShop? --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:01, 16 January 2017 (EST)
- That, I'm unsure about. I think evidence of the lack of backwards compatibility can be seen with Breath of The Wild and Mario Kart 8, both of which are getting re-released on the Switch despite being on the Wii U. This is technically still speculatory since Nintendo hasn't said anything as far as I'm aware, but to me that essentially says that the Switch won't be backwards compatible. --Thatguy62 (talk) 16:09, 16 January 2017 (EST)
