The 'Shroom:Issue LXXIX/The 'Shroom Spotlight
Hey there 'Shroomers, and welcome to the October edition of 'Shroom Spotlight! Spotlight is a monthly 'Shroom section which acts as an improvement drive for the wiki, focusing on specific issues with a handful of articles, and organizing a collaboration amongst readers to help improve those articles. Last month, we focused on four different articles, all varying in subject material and problems that those specific articles had. The article Dusty Dune Galaxy required more images for the individual missions within the Galaxy, and we able to improve the article by applying several uploaded images to give visual examples of those missions. F.L.U.D.D. had an overly long Trivia section, which we were able to trim to an acceptable length and incorporate the points in the rest of the article! The article Mystic Forest, which used to be a stub article of only two lines in length was given a massive overhaul, thanks to the work of a user called Icemario11 (talk). Thanks for all your hard work for the Spotlight project, dude! The forth article we focused on was Gritzy Caves, which had a lot of poorly worded ("gritzy") paragraphs. Readers successfully collaborated to help rewrite and improve the article. All goals for last month's edition were fully completed, and we would like to show our gratitude to all those who participated. A new edition means a new collaboration. So without further ado, let's shine the spotlight on the group of article which will be the focus for this month!
- Krow (needs more images) – The badass birdie boss from the Donkey Kong series is currently lacking a few image on its article. The upload of additional screenshots of Krow across multiple games is invited (because he is so badass, capturing him from multiple angles would suffice, Mr. Paparazzi). Sprites of Krow from the games would also have a place on the article.
- Giga Bowser (long Trivia section) – Bowser, in his most horrendously eye gaping and jaw widening form. I'll tell you something else that's horrendous: the overly long Trivia section of this article. Each and every one of those trivia points would be able to find a comfortable place elsewhere in the article. Think of it this way: those trivia points need to join in and mingle with everyone else at the party, not stand isolated in the reject corner of the room!
- Takashi Tezuka (stub article) – The first ever real person article the project has focused on so far, Nintendo video game designer Takashi Tezuka gets the spotlight this month! He's done so much for Nintendo and its consumers over the years, I think it's time to give something back and show how much we appreciate his work: let's expand his MarioWiki article!
- Pillow Fight (rewrite) – Let's have a Pillow Fight rewrite: the article is chockers full of poorly worded sentences and grammar mistakes. Hmm, as a matter of fact, this article reminds me of a real life pillow. At a glance, it looks like a decent slab of content, which many people would be quite comfortable having. But if you were to pull it apart, it can get a little messy.
