Squids are species of underwater creatures in the Donkey Kong series. In Donkey Kong for the Game Boy, squids make an appearance as enemies. They first appear in stage 3-7 on the Ship. Squids move around in the water horizontally. They can damage Mario if he touches them.

In Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, squids are allies. They are found in underwater levels. If Donkey Kong gets close, they will swim away and leave bananas behind. They usually swim in a large circle (which leaves a giant banana circle in the water) or just keep moving in a direction. After a while, the squid will disappear and leave some ink behind.
