Hello. I'm Son of Suns, a sysop here at the Super Mario Wiki. You're contributions are pretty good. Remember to pay close attention to spelling. Also we frown upon the use of the word "you" at this wiki. Instead, use "Mario" or some other character, or "the player" if an action refers specifically to the gamer sitting behind the TV screen. Also remember to add categories. The most common are Species, Enemies, Characters, Items, and Places. Characters refers to a specific person, not a generic race. You should also check out the PipeProject: Levels page to see if you are doing the level articles correctly. Also, the template you created could be made to look better. Check out our templates and format yours accordingly. Otherwise, good work and thanks for your help. -- Son of Suns
- As SoS said, you should have checked PP:LEV. It turns out that we are not linking to individual levels directly, and in addition, no templates for individual worlds.

Read PipeProject:Levels#Structure. The content of the pages is very good, but it has been decided that creating a single article for each level is unnecessary. Instead of hundreds of short articles, we are creating multiple long articles categorized by world – with sub-sections of those world pages with the descriptions. 6-5 and World 7 Mini-Fortress 1 should be merged as sub-sections of the Ice Land article. You are actually the first to get a headstart on this project, so you are not all to blame – there was no visual example to go beforehand.
The actual 6-5 page will redirect to World 6, which will be a disambiguation page that links to World 6 (SMB), World 6 (SMB2), World 6 (NSMB),
--> Ice Land, the 6th world of SMB3, and Chocolate Island, the 6th world of SMW. <--
because #-# and World # format is common through the games. SMB3 & SMW have names for their worlds (+ levels for SMW). No need to distinguish them, but it's worth mentioning in the disambiguation page itself.
Let me know if there are any more questions. Wa TC@Y 19:50, 31 October 2006 (EST)

- Heh, that was another user. Sorry!
Disagree
I understand your point that the article is very detailed (very nice, 3dejong!), but the point of the PipeProject is not to have a ton of pages on the wiki. World 3-1 (Super Mario Bros 3), World 3-2 (Super Mario Bros 3)...it gets repetitive fast, and cluttering the random page function. Steve (creator of the wiki and head sysop) personally gave me these guidelines to create many high-quality, complete articles instead of hundreds of possibly complete, but cluttering articles. Again, you had a very strong point that I would consider if it was not for the many redirects that would be have to made for each page and Steve's previous suggestion. Also again, thanks for inspiring the beginnings of this PipeProject. No hard feelings. Wa TC@Y 21:45, 2 November 2006 (EST)

Yes, it's true, and I have noticed that myself: HOWEVER, the wiki is not intended to be straight strategy-wiki, and putting 4-6 before 4-5 could confuse people, not to mention that it just looks bad. I'm aware that it's better to do 4-6 first, but that's not the question here. Monty Mole (Talk·Contribs) 11:56, 4 November 2006 (EST)
OK.
I don't know how much I can stress this to you, Koopa lover, so I'm going to say it in bold letters. I'm not at the point of capitals yet.
The Super Mario Wiki is not Wikipedia. It is as hard core as Wikipedia in encyclopedic content, but it is not Wikipedia. The wiki is now expanding into multiple wikis to resolve the Extended Marioverse problem – tightly bonded together and working towards the same goal. We need a category, added automatically by a template, so we can transfer pages already on this wiki to the correct wiki. You claim that this category, which helps transferrers such as me do the job easier is not Wikipedia-like. Guess what:
- It is MarioWiki-like. That's all that matters.
- In addition, if I remember correctly, Wikipedia has templates to move pages to MetaWiki and other sister projects, or even Wikis in other languages. How about that, Wikipedia needs categories like this too!
I hope you have drawn a line between the Super Mario Wiki and Wikipedia. If you haven't, you can expect a good week's block in due time. We have different standards and goals here. Don't mix them up. Wa TC@Y 21:06, 4 November 2006 (EST)
- Good start – you can have great contributions once you draw the line. Saying the above wasn't something I wanted to do, but it became necessary. Wa TC@Y 09:31, 5 November 2006 (EST)

I own the original NES version of the game, and I have gotten that message from the King myself. I have also beaten Koopalings as Tanooki and Hammer Mario, and I make sure that anything I post is verified. 3dejong

Oh, dawdling... ;) Don't worry, I'll make a walkthrough tomorrow. I've been taking notes on it all week, so this'll be a good one. Thank you for your concern! :) 3dejong

Re: ...
1) I didn't put it on your talk page because it was about the sequence, not you. I was curious whether there was something official about it or not. I left it open to anyone to answer, not just you.
2) Acceptable list. Is in order.

Cape Feather
Because you asked, these are the differences between Cape Mario and Raccoon Mario:
- Cape Mario is faster, can fly long distances (until he hits a wall), and divebomb towards the ground. Without a P-Wing, Raccoon Mario can only fly for a limited time.
- Raccoon Mario can fly in any direction, while Cape Mario must fly forwards.
- Raccoon Mario can destroy brick blocks. In SMA4, Cape Mario cannot do this, although he can still get any coins/items that are inside.
- Cape Mario can defeat Dry Bones. - Booster

I removed it since, well, I thought that category was for everything Super Mario Bros. 3 related, not just for the worlds; I thought it would work better that way if that were the case. And couldn't they just look at the article or template to see what order the worlds go in? -- Sir Grodus

Because this isn't the Super Mario Wiki Guide. All that can be done with individual levels is "this is how you beat this world". - A Link to the Past 13:34, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
