• In the level Fruity Factory from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, at the second checkpoint, the background (pictured) features a replica of Stage 1 from Donkey Kong 3.
• At the introduction of the Japanese version of Super Mario Sunshine, Mario can be heard saying "Looks like a giant-", the rest is inaudible. After Peach notices the presence of Shadow Mario, Mario says "Looks like Mario is going to have to find a new job", and Toadsworth replies "Are you starting a new career?". These dialogues were removed from the American introduction.
• In Mario Party 9, when participating in the minigame Don't Look, Toad, Koopa, Shy Guy, or Kamek stand on a stool. However in Pizza Me, Mario, only Toad or Shy Guy stand on a stool.
• Charles Martinet told Shigeru Miyamoto that he wanted to voice Link in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, though Miyamoto told him that Link would remain without a voice.
