Template:Infobox NES Remix 2, known in Japan as Famicom Remix 2, is an upcoming Nintendo eShop exclusive game on the Wii U, confirmed to be released on April 25, 2014. It is the direct sequel to NES Remix.
Gameplay
Much like its predecessor, the game contains portions from classic NES games, "remixing" them to provide a new challenge to players. Similarly, the game offers Miiverse integration, allowing players to share their level clear times with others and add Stamps to their posts. Unlike its predecessor, this game offers remixes of games later into the NES's lifespan.
Confirmed Games
NES Remix 2 has been confirmed to contain the following remixed NES games:
- Ice Hockey[1]
- Wario's Woods
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
- Super Mario Bros. 2
- Dr. Mario
- Kirby's Adventure
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Kid Icarus
- Punch-Out!!
- Metroid
- NES Open Tournament Golf
- Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels
Other modes
Super Luigi Bros.
Much like Super Mario 3D World included Luigi Bros., a port of Mario Bros., included in NES Remix 2 is a port of the original Super Mario Bros., with some changes: Luigi is the playable character instead of Mario, with his play style featured in Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, and the entire game's levels are mirrored (i.e. the player moves through levels from right to left). The game was based upon a challenge featuring Luigi going through World 1-2 backwards in the original NES Remix. This marks the first Year of Luigi game of 2014.
Championship Mode
There is a third game mode called Championship Mode. According to the information page dedicated to the NES Remix 2 on the website of Nintendo of America, this mode uses a scoring system inspired by the 1990 Nintendo World Championships, which covered, for the 1990 years, twenty-nine cities in the United States full of challenges based on NES games. The first NES Remix game is required to play Championship Mode.[2][3]
