This is a list of beta elements of the game Mario Kart 7.
Early builds
E3 2010 demo
- Rock Rock Mountain and Mario Circuit didn't have a ramp where the glider could be activated. Also there were no ramps because Nintendo didn't confirm that tricks would appear in the game. As a result both Wuhu Loop and Mario Circuit didn't have ramps.
- The pipes at Mario Circuit had different colors.
- The Dash Panels were rainbow colored similar to Mario Kart Wii's Dash Panels.
- The design layout of Rock Rock Mountain was different. There were a few trees that are no longer there.
E3 2011 demo
- The demo included the Spiny Shell with wings in the item roulette. In the final, it is replaced with the wingless version.
- Several ramps in Rock Rock Mountain are not present.
- The Screaming Pillars in DK Jungle do not have the occasional scream.
- The music for the character-selection menu was the same as Mario Kart Wii's. Also, the results screen and final-lap sound effect were from it, too.
Gamescom 2011 Demo
- Donkey Kong was in Bowser's place at the character selection screen.
Other
- In the Nintendo Press Conference 2011 Footage, the Lucky Seven doesn't have a chequered border. Said border is present in the final version.
- Whenever it is the Final Lap, Lakitu's sign says Final Lap; in the final version, it says 3/3.
- The beta version of Kalimari Desert had more cacti in it.
- In the credits of the game, after Mario reaches the first turn, there are more coins than usual. This could possibly be a beta element.
Miscellaneous
A kart body named Bullet Duck was mentioned on several websites but was not seen in the game. Also, a kart called Banana Buggy was mentioned; this was likely an early name for the Bolt Buggy, which is in fact called Banana Buggy or something similar in many languages other than English.[1] The Streamliner was mentioned due to a recognition mistake; it was actually the Blue Seven.
