Not to be confused with Bowser's Block Party in Mario Party DS.

Bowser's Block Battle is a boss minigame featured in Mario Party 9.

Introduction

The view will be on the players on a platform in space. The view will then change to be in front of the platform, and Bowser will appear, roar menacingly, and pull some dice out.

Gameplay

Players must attack Bowser by rolling dice marked with their own faces and Bowser symbols on the remaining sides. These dice are not typical dice blocks, but objects that players can pick up and throw if they do not like what was previously rolled. After a short while, the rolls will be set and dice can not be picked up (although those already in a player's hands can be thrown and the roll will be included). Each character will then attack and deal damage to Bowser equal to the number of dice showing his or her face, starting with the player or players with the most dice. If any dice show Bowser's symbol, he'll attack after being damaged by spitting a trio of fireballs once for each dice; anybody hit by a fireball will lose one point. The process will then repeat.

When Bowser is damaged halfway, he will increase in size. He will occasionally tilt the stage to complicate the players' attempts to roll the dice, and his fireball attack will also become larger and more difficult to avoid. After attacking with his fireballs, he'll roll a special dice with the six bosses on it. If Bowser rolls a previous boss, that character will appear and attack the players; if he rolls himself, he'll make a ferocious fireball assault, launching many more than his regular attack.

When Wiggler appears on the spiky dice, he walks around three times before walking out of the arena. When Big Bob-omb appears on the spiky dice, he slams the ground causing Bob-ombs to fall out of the sky. When King Boo appears on the spiky dice, Boos must be avoided. The first time is clockwise or counterclockwise and the second time is the opposite direction. When Blooper appears on the spiky dice, it floats tossing Urchins a certain number of times. When Chain Chomp appears on the spiky dice, it falls from the sky, moving toward the other players. Bumping walls will change direction.

Ending

Once defeated, Bowser will fly into the black hole behind the battlefield and explode, revealing several Mini Stars.
