Dinger Derby is a 4-player mini-game in Mario Party 5. The players has 30 baseballs thrown at them by a pitching machine and must hit as many of them as possible. There are four types of pitches: a standard pitch, a fast or slow ball, and a screw ball that wobbles furiously.

Trivia
- If the player manages to hit a ball at one of the spectators, the spectator will be dazed for a moment.
- If two balls come toward the character, it counts as one ball, since the player can hit only one of those two.
