- Game & Watch Gallery was released on the 3DS Virtual Console in Japan on June 22, 2011 and Donkey Kong for the Game Boy was released on the 3DS Virtual Console in North America, Europe and Australia on June 16 and in Japan on June 15, 2011.
- Nintendo has announced that the Flare Red Nintendo 3DS will be released in Japan on July 14th, 2011.
- At E3 2011, Nintendo unveiled Wii U (pictured) and announced a new Super Smash Bros. game for that console and for the Nintendo 3DS. Luigi's Mansion 2 was confirmed for the 3DS, and Mario Party 9 and Fortune Street for the Wii. A demo called New Super Mario Bros. Mii was shown for the Wii U, and new footage of Mario Kart, Super Mario 3D, and Paper Mario for the 3DS was also shown.
