Turtles are a species of animals. They are not to be confused with Koopas, walking turtles that have names nor Shellcreepers.
Turtles appeared in Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat not as allies, enemies-just as opponents Donkey Kong raced in the Pear Kingdom. While if DK didn't get first place, he would steal beat the level just not get many beats.
Turtles are mentioned in Super Mario Land. A level is called Turtle Zone. However they weren't seen in the game.
