Pin

The Pin is visible sticking out of the Hole.

The Pin (also known as the flag) is a feature found in the Mario Golf series. The Pin is a sort of marker as to where the Hole is. Without the Pin, it would be very hard for the Player to judge where the Hole is to make a good shot. On the Pin is the flag. The Flag is an extension of the Pin so the location of the Hole stands out a little more. Whenever the ball hits the pin, that would be called a "Pin Shot". Balls usually bounce back when they hit the pin.
