White Mages are part of the Square-Enix Final Fantasy series. They are a class with weak defenses and strength, but strong magical power. They mostly use healing or beneficial spells, but some spells are hindering, such as Holy or Slow. They are the opposite of Black Mages.

However, this White Mage appears in the Mario Hoops 3-on-3 game, due to that game being developed by Square-Enix. White Mage is unlocked by getting a Silver in Rainbow Cup in Normal Mode. In this game she was voiced by Deanna Mustard. There are a few other Final Fantasy characters in this game: Ninja, Black Mage, Moogle, and Cactuar.

Interestingly, White Mages can be tied in with the Mario series in another way: the robe of Psycho Kamek (Kamek's presumably senile alter ego seen in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga) is thought by several to be designed after that of the White Mages of the Final Fantasy series. Indeed, Psycho Kamek and White Mage both have white apparel trimmed in red triangles. It is also interesting to note that it is traditional for female White Mages of the Final Fantasy series to constantly wear their hoods while males lack hoods from their costume, but the definitely male Psycho Kamek, in the style of a normal Magikoopa, wears a hood as if he were a female White Mage. Also, the White Mage seen in Mario Hoops 3-on-3 chooses not to wear her hood, revealing pink hair and a tiara.
