Gender?

I know there have been contradicting statements about Watt's gender in Paper Mario, but the Super Paper Mario catch card states that he's in fact male. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:21, 28 August 2007 (EDT)

Paper Mario is more official. It very much could have been a typo in SPM. Max2 (talk) Contradicting to the fact we go by newer information, I think this article is an exception.

What I mean by contradicting statements is that even within the game Paper Mario, Watt is both addressed as he and she, the game isn't linear about Watt's gender. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 15:04, 28 August 2007 (EDT)

Well, most of the time, Watt is figured as a she. Come to think abvout it, I see your point. But, Watt is female. Max2 (talk)

Well, If Cobold is right, I guess we could refer to Watt as "it" and add a note about the gender at the end of the page. Gofer

Yeah, I think EarthCrisis has a point. Mario riding YoshiXzelionETC
Who? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 15:36, 28 August 2007 (EDT)
Me, I am thinking about changing my name to that.

Gofer

Throughout the game I've noticed she could be either he/she. Everyone on the Zelda wiki can't decide Sheik's Gender. You know what? I think that's bull. A trophy information in Melee stated that when Zelda transforms into Sheik, her clothing changes, although her 'Physical' appearance stays the same. I wrote that on the discussion, and they told me, "That's a non-cannon game, so it doesn't count."

Let's not make that same mistake, OK guys?

Here's a little evidence Places Watt is referred to as a male in Paper Mario only: - Both times in Super Block upgrade menu.

Places Watt is referred to as a female: - Description of her abilities when she joins you. - Description of Watt's letter from her mother - Pause menu description of her.

Outside of Paper Mario, Watt seems to have more references insinuating his gender is male.

So where does this leave us?

I think Watt is a boy. Though this site can choose to overlook the newer info, I really don't care. Maybe we should have a poll to declare Watt's gender, this would end some confusion to it.

It should be a three category poll,

Male

Female

Optional

I might be over thinking this, but what do you guys think?
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Worldminus1 (talk). ...Thats Biased. I would reccomend to change Watt as an "it". Opinions can't be put in articles. Super-YoshiMust...eat...sig...Talk? C???

Watt was mentioned more as a female in game, the Super Block and Catch Card were most likely mistakes/mistranslations, and the Catch Card doesn't use the word male, it uses guy, which can sometimes refer to girls (like dude). So Watt is a female. Tadaa!2.gifPlumberTadaaa!.gif 00:11, 23 December 2008 (EST)

I wrote a letter to Nintendo about this. I got:

Hello,

I'm afraid there isn't an answer to your question about Watt's gender in the Paper Mario Virtual Console game. Nintendo excels at making sure our fans can get back story information and--most importantly--the information they require to complete the games that we publish. This can happen through our website (www.nintendo.com), Player's Guides, and Nintendo Power magazine.

Having said that, many details about our games will remain mysteries, left to the active imagination of the player.

Sincerely,

I have purchased the Nintendo 64 game, Paper Mario on my Nintendo Wii. I have met a party member named Watt that appears to have been referred to as both He and She.

Here's a little evidence Places Watt is referred to as a male in Paper Mario only: - Both times in Super Block upgrade menu.

Places Watt is referred to as a female: - Description of her abilities when she joins you. - Description of Watt's letter from her mother - Pause menu description of her.

Outside of Paper Mario, his/her catch card and information infers he/she is referred to as He.

I'd like to know the exact gender of the character in my game. Thank you.

optional

Is Watt optional? I thought I once read something that she was. User: Sonic&Mario Kid 19:37, 17 June 2008

I'm not sure, but I don't think she is. In fact, I don't really think she could be; her abilities are needed at least to fight Fuzzipede. YELLOWYOSHI398

No, you need her to scare the Shy Squad into blasting a hole to General Guy. Also, you need to reveal invisible blocks to get to Shiver City. Big-bang 13:59, 16 August 2008 (EDT)

Li'l Sparkie?

I would think of Watt's Mother as being a hothead, not a li'l sparkie. MarioFan9999 08:10, 18 August 2008 (EDT)

That's an what I though but there is unfortunately no proof Hello I am user ChillGuy.

I have been inactive for quite sometime, I have become much more mature than I had when I first joined this wiki, after being apart of Wikia for almost a year.
