Video Game Reviews
Super Mario Sunshine (GCN)
Super Mario Sunshine is a 2002 dissapointment to the world after Luigi made a smash hit with his game Luigi's Mansion in 2001. Both games were on the effortless made Nintendo Gamecube. The story of the game revolves around a holiday trip (so very similar to Super Mario World) to Isle Delfino. Watching the Plane's holiday Demo, Peach notices a strange shaped figure looking like the person sitting next to her. No, not Toadsworth, dumb fool! Mario. But with a hologram-grey-blackishblue colour in which you will never make out which colour it really is, jumping out randomly behind the guides in the Video Demo. They land on the Delfino Airstrip, meets F.L.U.D.D cleans up the airstrip, splashes a monster and gets taken away by Police for doing so. What? how could you take him away for doing a good thing? Oh... Wait? the first 5 minutes and he's taken away for vandilism? All he did was just spray water.. oh, mabye that's it. No? Vandilising the whole Island with goop and a paintbrush? Seriously all he did was a few breakouts in Mario Paint, but he couldn't have possibly brushed the whole Island! Mario is now in labour. Very serious labour. and what's worse? You have the controls of a Gamecube controller. I'm not saying it's crappy, I'm just saying it is just not designed for a game like this! But it is designed for a game like Luigi's Mansion! There are alot of glitches in this Game, some you accidentaly run through! E.g, in Delfino plaza, you try to get up to the top of the Shine Sprite Statue, getting to the Village, You give a boost of rocket FLUDD but if you are to close to the edge of the statue at the top, you magically stop saying whe-he!, pause for 6 whole seconds and then fall back to earth. There are alot of bad things about this game that makes you say, 'Thank God we have Super Mario Galaxy!' Mainly FLUDD Himself. Water. Pesky little thing runs out of water after a few squirts. Imagine in Super Mario Bros. that when you got a fire flower, you only had 20 fireballs. Well it feels the same trying to refill FLUDD every 5 minutes! Not only that sometimes you mabye in a plce where there is no water and you need to squirt something. IT IS NOT FAIR. I forgot to mention that sometimes the Gamecube controller can be sensitive and non-sensitive at completely unpredicted and random times! You may not notice it, causing you to miscalculate jumps, which is the most annoying thing to have in a 3D Platformer Video Game. There is one thing I want to point out to the rest of the world. One of the no.1 things I like about Super Mario 64, is that in this game, if you press Z and A at the same time, Mario preforms my favourite jump, the long jump. It allows Mario to jump long places, get to places faster and is sometimes handy in a TAS Speedrun. So, how's my favourite jump in this game? WTF? Are You Serious? NO LONG JUMP!!!!!!! Oh, you SUCK! Replacing the Long Jump with FLUDD's Hover Nozzle is just like replacing an World Series Trophy with a piece of Crap. It's Just not Right! The only thing good about this game is the music. Noki Bay's music is just an example of Koji Kondo's magic. Can there be any better musical masterpiece than Noki Bay?.............................. Three Words: DIRE, DIRE DOCKS!
So what do I rate this game?
- Story 4/10
- Gameplay 2/10
- Music 7/10
- Graphics 5/10
- Overall 3/10
To be honest, at first when I got this game, I ignored everyone about the crappyness of the game, and thought it was actually going to be good! I was fucking wrong. The only things keeping this game alive is the music and cute little Bowser Jr. He is such a cute, handsome little charm isn't he? NOTE TO NINTENDO: Don't you ever hire a voice actor for Bowser ever again! His Voice almost Killed us all!
Tetris (GB)
And you thought the original 1989 Nintendo Entertainment System Version of Tetris was the best, you haven't even got a Game Boy is suppose. The Music is Music to your ears, the games hasn't gone any less addicting and the game is now Portable! It's more addicting than ever before!, and Dr. Mario can't help you this time, because he hasn't found a way to get onto Game Boy! Released along with the Game Boy Itself, it was quickly one of the best selling portable games on any system, selling more than the NES Version. The Music has improved, and I have not seen a Game Boy Tetris without hearing the Game B Music. It's fun, and is one of the first Multiplayer games on a portable console in Video Game history. Playing Tetris has never before been this fun to Play!
So what do I rate this game?
- Story, It has none and does not need one!
- Gameplay 9/10
- Music 10/10
- Graphics 6/10
- Overall 10/10
Portable is better for any puzzle game!
