Dizzy
Dizzy is a status ailment found in almost every Mario RPG game to date. This status ailment has also made other appearances in other games.
History
Paper Mario series
Paper Mario
A small blue spiral will appear over Mario's head, preventing him from moving for a few turns. Dark Koopas and Groove Guys are some enemies that can cause dizziness. Kooper has an attack that can make enemies dizzy.
The Dizzy Dial can be used to inflict this status ailment.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Again, dizziness is indicated by the blue spiral, and the Dizzy Dial returns. However, instead of negating the ability to attack, the victim's attacks will have a 50-50 chance of missing the target. In the case of FP-powered moves, the FP is subtracted when the attack begins, meaning Mario and his partners could waste FP if they should miss. Ms. Mowz has an attack that will make the enemy dizzy.
Mario & Luigi series
Dizziness in this game is represented by two stars above the victim's head. The status ailment serves the same purpose it did in Paper Mario.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Advanced Cyclone Bros. attack of Luigi's can cause dizziness to enemies. However, the affliction is far more common in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, as Hammer attacks and some Bros. Items such as the Smash Egg can cause dizziness to enemies. Many enemies can cause the heroes to become Dizzy as well. The Dizzy status returns once again in Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story with the same causes from Partners in Time.
