Star Point

Star Points are special points Mario and Co. can accumulate in the games Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They are earned for battling and defeating enemies. If Mario gets 100 Star Points, he gets to level up his HP, FP or BP. However after Mario reaches a certain level, weaker enemies will stop giving Star Points.

In Paper Mario, if Mario has leveled up enough that a battle with a weak enemy, such as a Goomba, no longer gives Star Points, Mario will receive no Star Points at the end of the battle. However, in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, even if the above is true, Mario will still be awarded one Star Point at the end of the battle. Mario can automatically defeat enemies who no longer give Star Points by using certain badges.

Mario can't get more than 100 Star Points per battle.
