Snaking above Mist Valley, or Meringue Clouds-6, is the sixth level of Meringue Clouds in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked via completion of Spinning Spirit House, Bouncy Cloud Boomerangs, or A Quick Dip in the Sky and its own completion unlocks Ludwig's Clockwork Castle.
In Challenge Mode, this level is used in Big Air at Sundown.
Layout
Like Bouncy Cloud Boomerangs, the background has pinkish-peach clouds instead of white clouds. This level begins near a Snake Block platform and a Foo on a row of ? Blocks. The Snake Block acts as the main part of the ground in the section, and the level immediately begins to autoscroll when it is touched. Paratroopas and Foos are encountered in the area. A P Switch is then found, and a section of ground follows. More Paratroopas and Foos follow. A Pipe Cannon that leads Mario and co. to the Checkpoint Flag follows. Another Snake Block is then found, which continues above a pit. A Paratroopa, a Fire Brother, and a Foo can be found. A Green Ring is located beneath a section of ground. Another Foo is then found, along with a section with Paratroopas and clouds that cover portions of the level. Fire Brothers and Foos are found near the end of the area, where a Warp Pipe that leads to the Goal Pole is found.
Star Coins
- Star Coin 1: Mario and co. should activate a P Switch to reveal Blue Coins and turn the Brick Blocks blocking the first Star Coin into coins.
- Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin is found in plain sight. The Snake Blocks or a flight power-up such as the Flying Squirrel Suit can help Mario and co. reach it.
- Star Coin 3: In the second area, the third Star Coin is in plain sight. However, the Snake Block goes above it. Mario and co. should use a flight power-up or throw a Koopa Shell to collect it for them.
