Talk:Princess Peach: Showtime!
Possible Cowgirl Peach...?
Someone on Twitter pointed this out, but based on the theatre lobby, which appears to be this game's hub world, one of the icons shows what appears to be a western hat, and the narrator in the trailer also states that more transformations than just the four shown off are in the game. So there's a chance that we might (emphases on "might") be getting a cowgirl transformation for Peach. Defefefe (talk) 11:43, September 16, 2023 (EST)
- There's also a ninja kunai dagger symbol visible, implying a ninja transformation (which has been rumoured). And we see as Peach enters the first door where she becomes Swordfighter Peach, there's her sword symbol above the door. I wonder how we can incorporate this information onto the page without being too speculative about her transformation outfit. MarioComix (talk) 20:23, September 16, 2023 (EDT)
- I think we should wait to add anything like this until there's another trailer for the game or an official statement about more transformations for Peach. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 14:08, November 12, 2023 (EST)
- Oh I know, I wasn't saying add it to the page, I was just making an observation is all. Defefefe (talk) 16:48, November 14, 2023 (EST)
- I was more replying to what MarioComix said, as they mentioned perhaps adding the info to the page when we have almost nothing to go off of. No offense, MarioComix, I think your statements are very solid in evidence. We can add this info once we get an official Nintendo statement that proves it to be true (I hope we do soon!). Thank you both for your thoughts! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 23:46, November 15, 2023 (EST)

Well, seems like the Ninja and Cowgirl transformations ended up being true as revealed in today's trailer. Defefefe (talk) 13:19, January 23, 2024 (EST)

Japanese fans' reaction to the new boxart
I'd like to add the reaction shown by Japanese fans to the new boxart, that was not exactly positive.

- The entire scope of the criticism is very limited. That shared article's extent of criticism is just several baseless and cherry-picked one-liner social media posts, many even contradicting with others, and no legitimate professional criticisms should illustrate it. The country of origin is irrelevant here too; we have plenty of American criticisms for American media, particularly of culture war variety, that are social media posts on fleeting topics that fade to irrelevancy quickly. Additionally, just because it's used in Wikipedia doesn't necessarily indicate it's a reliable source. I've actually looked at the articles being shared. The author "primal"[1] is not a credible media critic or a journalist, having written plenty of articles on the appearance of women's breasts on anime figures or panty shots of some female characters, if not writing articles that consist entirely of argumentative social media posts. Due to poor curation, I would not recommend using any content from Niche Gamer as sources. It's not considered reliable by Wikipedia either.[2] It's me, Mario! Fate of PPS demo?
I dunno if this belongs here, but with Nintendo Live 2024 canceled, what do you guys think this may mean for the supposed demo for PPS? Defefefe (talk) 11:34, December 7, 2023 (EST)
Music Letimotifs
As the title says, I have heard on Princess Peach: Showtime!! on Kung Fu Peach part but the motif seems to be familiar, it just looked like Super Mario Galaxy Title Music Motif for me. It is just me or coincidence on other Super Mario motifs? ExoRosalina (talk) 8:34, January 24, 2024 (PST)
- I just listened to it, and it doesn't sound like the title screen theme. I can see where you got the idea from though. Thanks for mentioning it! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 22:22, January 23, 2024 (EST)
- Also, there is more regarding Figure Skater Peach part, I listened it and the music is so very familiar and it looks like Sunshine Airport from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe motif. I am not sure if Mermaid Peach part has it's on motif due to the chords or accompaniment letimotif. -- ExoRosalina (talk) 13:10, February 15, 2024 (PST)
- Hmm, maybe. I'll listen to it later and get back to you. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 16:09, February 15, 2024 (EST)
- Actually, yes! The music that plays does sound reminiscent of the Sunshine Airport music! It doesn't bear enough resemblance to add it to the Trivia section, but it's still interesting to note. Thanks for bringing this up; I don't think anyone else would have considered it! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 23:19, February 16, 2024 (EST)
- Also all of the costume transformations share the same jingle, just like how Super Mario World level themes share the same jingles. I wonder where that information can fit? Derekblue1(talk) 05:23, March 29, 2024 (EDT)
- I think I would say yes, so I am not sure it will count as references because everytime we also heard. Also, most of the people heard if it is related to Super Mario Galaxy or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe motifs. -- ExoRosalina (talk) 5:41, March 31, 2024 (PST)
- I don't think that the transformations sharing jingles is related to the Super Mario World levels sharing jingles. A lot of games have the same themes for levels, so I don't think it's notable enough to add. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 22:13, March 30, 2024 (EDT)
- That is correct, because I never stated they are related. I used Super Mario World as an example because people know that the levels share the similar melody, same with Super Mario 64 levels. The whole point I am stating is that Peach's transformations share the same melodies in their themes, while they are modified from one another. Derekblue1(talk) 21:27, April 3, 2024 (EDT)

Last four transformations?
So, I'm not sure if leaks are allowed to be posted on here (as I'm still kinda new to this wiki), but I was looking on Twitter and discovered that the last four transformations for this game were accidently leaked online: https://twitter.com/PrincessPeachTo/status/1757612929208512973
The transformations are Mermaid Peach, Figure Skater Peach, Mighty Peach and Dashing Thief Peach
I'm not sure if we should add these or not, as again they were accidently leaked. Defefefe (talk) 07:10, February 14, 2024 (EST)
- I have also seen these in Twitter and I'm convinced that it's legit, but I think we should wait until we can use a more reliable source before we include them here. Nightwicked Bowser 08:20, February 14, 2024 (EST)
Well, just like that, we get a new trailer with these transformations XD Defefefe (talk) 10:19, February 14, 2024 (EST)
Ninja Peach Description
Would someone be able to change Ninja Peach’s description in the transformations section? Someone accidentally put the swordfighter description. It should say: “Hide in the scenery using props, jump wall to wall, and take out foes with kunai as an agile ninja. Move swiftly and strike!” (Source: the official North American site for Princess Peach: Showtime!) Thanks! :) Insaniot (talk) 02:37, February 19, 2024 (EST)
Mario Bros 3 reference?
After watching the demo for the game, I noticed that the music cue for loading screens is very similar to the one from the opening cutscene from Mario Bros 3. Do you think it's worthy enough to be added? Defefefe (talk) 08:15, March 7, 2024 (EST)
No it's probably not. SMB3 used a play theme and so did PP:S. Not really a coincidence. Wonder Time!
Grape in "Supporting Characters"
I don't believe that Grape is a "supporting" character :P 174.179.87.30 14:51, March 8, 2024 (EST) SquireTurnbolt
- That could be untrue that Grape is a supporting character, but let's wait until the actual game comes out. Then we'll be able to tell for sure. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 20:10, March 8, 2024 (EST)
- She’s not a a supporting character. I own the game and she is the main antagonist and final boss and needs to be moved to be the enemies section. Could someone do that for me? ‘Cause I tried moving it and… it did not go well. Wonder Time!
Same date for both the game and SSBU Spirit Event
One particular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Board event will be held on the same date as the game's release (which features Spirits from said game). So, what can we put in their infoboxes (Stella and Swordfighter Peach)? Juju1995 (talk) 15:18, March 20, 2024 (EDT)
- Most likely give priority to Princess Peach Showtime, as stated here the Smash event will release at some point after the game has come out (I tried to do a proposal on this which went nowhere). Nightwicked Bowser 15:48, March 20, 2024 (EDT)
Could I help?
Me and my siblings pooled our money together and bought this game this morning. Is there any specific way in this article that needs verification or something akin to that? Wonder Time!
- Why don't you play the game and see if you can help out? Even a little bit goes a long way, if you'll pardon the expression. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 19:32, March 27, 2024 (EDT)
- @Thanks, Fan of Rosalina! I… heh, actually have not played the game myself, my younger siblings have been using it the past weekends but when I do I will definitely contribute! Wonder Time!
Super Mario RPG Switch Version
When Peach is near a Theet that is dancing she will also dance along with it and it looks similar to the dance she does when someone levels up in Mario RPG so could that be added to the references to other games?
The preceding unsigned comment was added by OngoingTalent13 (talk).
- Doing a dance alone isn't strong enough to be a reference. If they are similar then it's most likely coincidental. Nightwicked Bowser 05:33, March 24, 2024 (EDT)
- Speaking of coincidence, is it a coincidence that Geno, in post-game content, can get the STELLA 023? Or the WONDER Chomp? I feel like that was intentional on Nintendo’s side and we should mention that in the RPG article. Wonder Time!
- @Wonder Time!: That's a coincidence for sure. There's no real reason why they'd make something that trivial a reference, in my opinion. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 19:30, March 27, 2024 (EDT)
The game has no British English support.
I've personally played through the entire game in English, with the system region set to Europe, and I can confirm first-hand that the game consistently uses only American spellings. As such, I presume the en_gb=y
part in the infobox should likely be removed. DandelionSprout (talk) 02:55, April 2, 2024 (EDT)
Anyone up for expanding?
Okay, let me get this clear: the "enemies and obstacles" section needs severe expanding!!! The game already came out a few weeks ago, and I really, REALLY think the "enemies and obstacles" should be expanded from the so little it covers now. PLEASE do this! Mariofan28047 15:55, April 5, 2024 (EDT)
- Because the game just came out, many people are still playing the game. As a result, it might be a while before the "Enemies and obstacles" section is complete. If you wish, you could help expand it if you own the game. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 14:35, April 14, 2024 (EDT)
- Don't worry - I'll help! I'll add the enemies and bosses I've uploaded images for. Sparks (talk) 14:37, April 14, 2024 (EDT)
- In my eyes personally, Princess Peach: Showtime!#Characters already has a massive overweight of antagonists contra protagonists (21 to 4), so I'm thinking that there'd be more reason to add more friendly characters, than to add enemy characters. DandelionSprout (talk) 01:32, April 26, 2024 (EDT)

Ancient language
Can we add a alphabet for the in game ancient language 174.242.40.57 12:45, April 6, 2024 (EDT)
- Presuming it's about the stone exhibitions in The Case of the Missing Mural, I personally think it'd be impractical at best, even more so as there's no sounds associated with those letters. Same unfortunately goes for what is apparently the Theets' current-day written language, which is used in e.g. the newspaper Peach reads in The Case of the Rainy-Day Plot, and in some of Sparkle Theater's posters. Replace the level list on the main Princess Peach: Showtime! page with a link to, or incorporation of, the Sparkle Theater page
This talk page section contains an unresolved talk page proposal. Please try to help and resolve the issue by voting or leaving a comment. |
Current time: Wednesday, November 27, 2024, 02:58 GMT
The edit in question would be big enough that it'd likely raise eyebrows if I had done it with no forewarning, so it likely warrants a talk page proposal instead:
Essentially, the level list at Princess Peach: Showtime!#Plays, has been completely outclassed in info and details by the level list at Sparkle Theater, and more info may well be added to the latter page at a later time.
As a result of that, the former's list as it currently stands, does not make sense in my eyes to keep in the state it is at the time of writing (A simple table with floors and level names).
There's only two options I can personally vouch for, which are pretty similar to each other:
Option 1: Replace the entire Showtime page's list with a link to Sparkle Theater
This is one I know from Wikipedia, which has a concept of "Main article:". The way I think of it, the entire "Plays" section would be replaced with a "Main article:", for example, if I remember Wikipedia's syntaxing correctly:
==Plays==
{{Main|Sparkle Theater}}
And maybe one or two images like e.g. File:PPS Sparkle Theater 1F.png on its right.
Option 2: Also center the list around a link to Sparkle Theater, but with some more text summaries and images added to Showtime's list
This one is a bit more abstract to explain. The same {{Main|Sparkle Theater}}
as in Option 1 would be placed on the top of the section, but the current list would be allowed to remain, along with some text above the list that would say something like "Princess Peach: Showtime has 40 levels in total, with Sparkle Theater being the hub between them. The five main floors contain a shows with a rotation of with different transformations, while the basement contains the third and final levels for each transformation." As well as two- or three-ish images on the right.

Support
- DandelionSprout (talk) The current list just looks too simple, compared to the very detailed list on the Sparkle Theater page.
Oppose
- Nightwicked Bowser (talk) Game articles typically include full level lists regardless if there are other articles that list them, including all Super Mario platformer articles.
- ExoRosalina (talk) Is this even necessary? Some plays have better options just like in other platformer pages. I have yet checked Super Mario Galaxy (including 2) have both levels and Galaxy page have those similar issues.
- SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) Per above. Also, there is no option choosing.

Uhhh, this proposal doesn't let you choose which option they want. SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 08:15, April 26, 2024 (EDT)
- I had to guess a fair bit for what the format for my first ever talk page proposal would be, and MarioWiki:Proposals#Basic_proposal_and_support.2Foppose_format didn't seem to account for multi-option procedures, sadly. 😓 DandelionSprout (talk) 11:09, April 26, 2024 (EDT)
- You don't have to keep the format as provided on the Proposals page word-for-word: you can change a few things that befit your proposal better as you set it up. Looking at previous multiple-option proposals, for example, you can replace the Support and Oppose sections with an "Option 1" section, an "Option 2" section, and a "Do nothing" section. rend (talk) (edits) 12:07, April 26, 2024 (EDT)
- Yeah, you don't HAVE to. When I make multi-option proposals, I put in the initial format, then change it to fit the proposal. SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 13:49, April 26, 2024 (EDT)
