Pirate Goom
Pirate Gooms (also known as Spear Men) are brown Gooms that hold spears in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and Wario Land II. They pace back and forth in most of the levels. Their spears are pointed forward, so Wario should avoid hitting them from the front.
Pirate Gooms are likey a distant relative of the Goomba. In fact, because of their apparent lack of a body, they highly resemble the Super Mario World Goomba variety.
Pirate Gooms featured a minor change in appearance when the Brown Sugar Pirates upgraded into the Black Sugar Pirates in Wario Land II. In that game, they started wearing striped bandanas and toting tridents rather than spears (despite the fact that they are renamed "Spear Men" in that game).
Pirate Gooms may also be appearing in the upcoming game Wario Land: Shake. This is only a speculation for the three creatures pictured on the right may be a sub-species or a completeley different species. This new species or infact a Yuretopian Pirate Goom have been seen in three different colors: yellow, blue, and red. Not much is known about these creatures accept they can be deafeated by being shaken and may even realease coins.
